If you were to offer George Pickens a contract how much would it be?

Hats off to George for giving us a spark our offense has been clearing missing. I love his toughness, and his physical abilities to be a game changer. With that said and his success on the field, what would you offer him if you could right now? What's his current value??

I don't think I'd insult him with anything below 30 million. (Yes we know he wants to negotiate after the season, SMART!) Let's have fun, I'm honestly not going to lock him up long term, maybe a 3 year deal, in that 3rd year there would be an out in his contract that if things aren't going well, he can be cut/traded with not much damage to our cap.

His current play, I'm thinking at least 31 million a season, your turn!

Lamb is getting $34M, so $31M probably gets it done but I'm on the fence whether or not to sign him to a long-term deal after this season. I'm inclined to tag him, see how he responds and maybe get it done in 2026 mid-season.

Understandable. Team building/cap management aside, would love to be special at one position group at least for a few years. I think Jerry would try to make it happen to justify the dak deal.

If we were a serious team, with a plan, I would he fine extending him and paying him at the tier just under CeeDee. If he keeps balling out, someone will give him WR1 money in the 32m aav range,

He would be the perfect piece to keep the stacked talent around Dak for the remainder of his deal.

But we’re not a serious team, so I’d just as soon let him go. I figure that as soon as the offseason hits, Jerry will start misstating his name and talking about franchise tags. I’m sure we all know how well that will work out.

Agreed. Maybe 4 for 125 with a 30m signing bonus and maybe 90 of it guaranteed.
Can structure it with the yearly base broken down 15/22/28/30
Cap hits would be manageable IMO for a stud 1B receiver.
22.5
29.5
35.5
37.5
Nice breakdown!!

I'd love to be able to count on his personality staying glued without any outburst or lunacy.

In a perfect world I lock him up for 30 million 3 years.

In today's NFL there's no guarantees so unfortunately I'd franchise him for a year and make him prove it.

That said I don't think there are enough balls to go around for CD and Pickens somebody's not going to be happy.

Dak used Pickens because CD was not there when he comes back he'll go right back to him and Pickens will only get a few targets a game not sure if he'll be happy with that and I don't blame him.

Pickens is 2 years younger than CD if I can get two number ones and a number two for CD he's gone and I'm compiling draft picks to fix this messed up team.

A couple of things
*** agree with the tag but I would be ready to offer him his long-term mid-season 2026 if all boxes are checked.
*** I'm not too worried about enough balls. As a player recently said, it is foolish to worry about stats when you are winning. Not to mention, I am 100% confident we can and will keep them both happy.

LOL.....says a lot about many that they still follow a team that they respect. I don't know if it's good or bad....but says a lot.

Been preaching this for years........take one unit/position, maybe two and make it dominant with perhaps TWO ALL-PROs/Pro Bowlers. It's harder for opponents to neutralize TWO ALL_Pros at the same position w/o leaving leaving some open.
Yup. i think if you can be special at 2 things. Preferably 1 on each side of the ball you can be in the mix. Eagles were run game and dline last year. Before that Kc, all world QB and D.

an you be special at one thing on one side and dog turd at the other 99 things? Cause that’s us.

Agreed. Can have rice and Moss and still suck when you have a pop warner defense.

The thing is….is it smart to have two highly paid receivers? I don’t think so. Eagles and Bengals do and I believe Rams as well…….

But is it smart roster building I don’t think so….

But the problem the Cowboys have is they have no strengths. They have nothing to where they step on that field and a position group is automatically better then the opposing teams…..except receiver.

So you get it done. Build on your strengths. They are building something special on offense….clean house on defense. You have the draft capital…every pick won’t hit but with all those draft picks and the 4 first rounders in the next two years? That defense should at least have 4 or 5 new starters on it. Defense probably has run its course anyway with this core.

I wouldn’t
Cant pay him, CD and Dak and put a SB contender in the field

Yeah, as good as he's been -- so far, it's still early in the season -- it makes me uneasy to tie that much money up in WRs. Don't want to be like the Bengals who have all the WRs and never do anything because their defense is perennially horrible.

But Jerry will probably do it anyway to 1) justify his trade and 2) make Dak look better, even if it isn't best for the team overall.
