Gotta love his attitude toward the move and how he praises Coleman. He just has such a positive attitude about the move I'm just on the fence on cutting him outright. I know he's making $3 mil this year but I believe if he stays on this year and then is released next year we don't take a salary cap hit because next year is his last year. Correct me if I'm wrong. I'd just keep him as a backup or maybe he pulls it together and starts playing like he used to.

We are definitely financially better off by releasing him this year compared to next year. The signing bonus stuff is basically a sunk cost and will be accounted for regardless of whether he is waived this year or next year. What we will save is his base salary of $3.5M.

Money saved this year and not spent will be pushed forth to next year's cap and lessen the blow of all that "dead money" from the release of RW11/Bigg/Barber.

Why do you laugh at this? The guy has a really great attitude about it, you can see Garrett has already kept his word about who starts on this team. Maybe his skills have declined but the character is that of you want your whole team to be like.

Agreed! Igor has been the consumate 'Pro' while he's been here! Except when he did those dumb dances when down by 17+ pts. But it seems that bad back he's been battling since we signed him has caught up with him. Dude was on skates all last game while he played.

I agree that he looked like an idiot dancing over a big play in a loss. But I have to admit, I've done the same thing. Sometimes you just get so frustrated getting your head handed to you that you overreact when you're able to make anything at all happen.

Its kinda more interesting to me that Spears has moved to RDE. We could see an increase in production that everyone can see with him in that spot, especially with Ware behind him there.

Spencer will have to step up with Coleman over there.

Yeah I think this is a smaller, but also a major part of this story.

Spears has always talked the talk, lets see him back it up cause this is his opportunity.

My problem ever since we signed Coleman AND Hatcher is finding room for him on the roster.

Obviously, Spears, Coleman and Hatcher aren't going anywhere at end, and Ratliff and Brent are locked in at nose tackle, so it comes down to Lissemore and Olshansky. With four vets already on the line, I'd rather keep the younger, cheaper option who shows potential to help at end and tackle.
