After weeks of speculation, San Jose State linebacker Frank Ginda has officially entered the NFL Draft. The nation's leading tackler has intrigued NFL scouts with his intense play on a team which struggled in 2017, and the announcement comes one day after Leighton Vander Esch of Boise State announced his decision to enter the draft.

The First Team All-Mountain West Conference linebacker led all FBS players in total tackles with 173 this season. The 6-foot-1, 242-pounder recorded the second most tackles in a single season since 2006, only behind former Boston College standout and Carolina Panther Pro Bowler Luke Kuechly in 2011 (191 tackles). Ginda, a true junior, finished up his college career with 351 total tackles, 29 TFLs, 9.5 sacks, seven PBUs and six forced fumbles in three seasons.

Scouts comend Ginda for his instinctual play and his ability to show up every Saturday.

Ginda is consistently around the ball making positive plays for the defense. Sources close to Ginda tell me the linebacker is a workout warrior, and they expect him to be one of the top performers and testers at his position during NFL Scouting Combine held in Indianapolis in late February.

nice find tho on his college page it states that he is 6 tall

You're right ........

http://BAN-INCOMING-IN-3-2-1/college/SanJoseState_logo.gif Frank Ginda*, ILB, San Jose State
Height: 6-0. Weight: 245.
Projected 40 Time: 4.82.
Projected Round (2018): 4-6.
12/16/17: Ginda turned in a huge 2017 season with 173 tackles, 13 tackles for a loss, three passes batted, two sacks and three forced fumbles. He built on solid sophomore - 99 tackles - and freshman - 80 tackles - production. If Ginda were taller with more length, he would be rated higher

For the record, this is one my pet cats..........Led the ACC in tackles 3 straight years and may only cost a 4th

http://BAN-INCOMING-IN-3-2-1/college/Virginia_logo.gif Micah Kiser, ILB, Virginia
Height: 6-2. Weight: 240.
Projected 40 Time: 4.70.
Projected Round (2018): 3-5.
12/16/17: Kiser has 134 tackles on the season and has been dangerous as a blitzer, notching five sacks. He also has four passes batted and 9.5 tackles for a loss.

9/1/17: Over the past two seasons, Kiser has been a tackling machine for Virginia. He had a breakout 2015 season as a sophomore where he totaled 117 tackles with 7.5 sacks, 13 tackles for a loss, three forced fumbles and two passes broken up. In 2016, he managed to increase his tackle production with 134 stops, 10 tackles for a loss, 6.5 sacks, seven passes broken up, five forced fumbles and an interception.

Kiser is a tough run defender who is strong, intelligent, instinctive, and physical in the tackle box. He is not a fast linebacker with sideline-to-sideline speed, however. He also isn't a great athlete and will need a lot of development in pass coverage to be a three-down defender in the NFL. At the next level, Kiser would fit best as an inside linebacker in a 3-4 defense with a fast run-and-chase linebacker next to him. He could be limited to being more of a run-stuffing linebacker for the pro game

Taven Bryant
DeShon Elliott
Frank Ginda
Micah Kiser

This would definitely solidify the middle of our D. I wpuld also love to get that CB from Iowa, but he may end up a first rounder. I am even willing to go after Holton Hill if he can prove he is maturing during the draft process.

yea but height does not matter its the heart - if he is even 5 11

he might be another Bobby Wagner
Wagner ran a 4.46 forty. That's faster than some of our DBs and WRs.

If you find a LB in the 4th with that speed, they should give him a shot even if he is 5-9, 240.

Definitely wasn't on my radar. FWIW, youtube has a full game of SJ St vs S Florida from earlier this year.

Had him for 5 solos, 6 assists, 3 TFLs, and 4 bad snaps. Good technique and good recognition. He's going in the right direction before everyone else. In that sense, he's like Sean Lee. He's not stiff. Doesn't avoid blockers and gets through traffic well. His tackles are near the line rather than down field.

He played on the outside a lot on passing downs. He's nimble enough to backpedal and handle his zone. While he's in coverage a lot at San Jose St, probably not at the NFL level. As for vs run, S Florida ran for over 250 yards I think, but mostly on some big runs around the edges and then the QB Flowers is a runner too. There was one I'd say was his fault where he jumped inside from WLB and left the right side wide open.

I honestly didn't get the sense that he was a superstar on the SJ defense. If I hadn't been looking for him, there were maybe three plays that would have stood out. Seems like a solid day 3 prospect that scouts really like.

Replace Bryant with Vea and I'm in
