Rampage I meant the younger Zach that people doubted coming out of college because of his size but made several prow bowls:starspin

I dont know if I'd go that far. He was not what we expected, but lets be honest, he was FAR from awful.

You wont hear any argument from me.

But he was not awful. He was an upgrade from Ayodele.

barely. our run defense got worse with the midget in there.

Thomas wasn't a failure, but he was about what you'd expect out of a 300 year veteran. Plus, ILB's in the 3-4 don't get much attention anyway.

I think Hodge could grow into a role as a nickel backer next to Jason Williams and a special teams star.

IMHO the ceiling for Hodge is about the Kevin Burnett area but with better health.

That would be a heck of a good value considering where he was drafted.

Zach was one of our better defenders early on but his body wore down and he fell off. Like Dat was, he is a good player who isn't a great fit in a 3-4.

Thomas made a ton of Pro Bowls and a million tackles in the NFL... Hodge has never even played the position before.

Like JT said, Hodge can probably do about like Burnett as a nickel LB. Only with a lot better attitude and without getting hurt going to the mailbox.

I love the stereotype of people and draft picks.

Like Romo wasn't undrafted. Like Ratliff wasn't a 7th round pick?

Zach practically lead the team in tackles and his mere presence and work ethic elevated Bradie James' play to the point many felt Bradie got snubbed in the Pro Bowl. It was a huge success because now Bradie is a playing to his full potential, I just hope he doesn't fall back to his old ways of sub-mediocrity...

I think Brooking can press him the same, he might even play better with Brooking in there.

Nothing like an old man showing you up in practice to light a fire under your back side, I hope the improvements increase.

I think that had more to do with Wade having him rush the passer more and using the 46 defense. we saw some of that in Bradie in 2007 than he got better in 2008.

I think I'd like to see him play before offering an opinion.
