I'll ask it: Saban in 2014? Predict wins for '13....

We all know DEEP DOWN this won't work. Kiffin, Red, whomever replaces Joe D. on special teams....its a full dumpster fire. I think we go 6-10 at best in 2013 and I"ve been within one game on my prediction for our record the last 7 years. (I said we'd go 7-9 this past season)

....So.... Red wil be gone, albeit a year late. It wouldn't surprise ANY of us if JJ tries to make a big splash: will he be able to convince Saban to come back? I think it's possible, especially if Nick wins his 5th NC...which I think he very well could.

....he seems like a MUCH more viable candidate, DESPITE his time in Miami than Gruden or other recycled coaches that have been mentioned. I can't think of any young college coaches I'd like to see: the coach at Stanford has been mentioned as has Brian Kelly and Kevin Sumerlin of TAMU, but I don't think they have enough experience. Saban can do it IMO: IF he wants to and I think if JJ is embarrassed enough....frustrated enough that he might just throw his hands up and hire Nick and let him bring in a GM to work with.

........yeah, I KNOW it's probably wishful thinking but what the heck: thoughts?

Your assuming that is what Saban wants and that may not be the case at all.

As for deep down what we know? That is your opinion. I don't know what Garrett will or will not accomplish he is not the 1st coach who has been on the hot seat nor the last.

You want to have a pity party I'm sure there are some willing to join you, I know I'm not one.

Saban has "closed the door" on the NFL, as he's stated tirelessly in a multitude of interviews. It's just not going to happen.

Holmgren is the next coach if Garrett is canned

Jerry can go out and get any coach he wants. Don't believe for a second those that say so and so won't come here.

Saban's in play. The more he wins there the less the challenge. He's a guy with a big ego and a lot still to prove on the pro level. What better place than the grand stage in Dallas?

I've seen people floating the name Mike Zimmer as the next head coach. I may lose my mind if that happened.

I would not want Saban here in Dallas.
He would be Parcells part II and coaches "boring football" and too conservative something that alot here complain/complained about when Parcells was here.

If I'm Saban, I wouldn't want to leave a great gig at Alabama and come back to the NFL, which stands for Not For Long if you can't get it done he tried at Miami and didn't work out Saban, is to college football what Mike Krzyzewski is to college basketball they're made for it.

My thoughts too.

Now I'm curious what he predicted for last seaosn.

I know one thing for certain. If Saban is here, Doug Free is not. A big fat pansy like Free would not be tolerated on a Saban coached team. I guarantee our entire oline would be full of maulers.

oh what a rude awakening it would be for the prima donna players currently on the team

thats something id like to see with or without saban. i miss seeing a nasty oline :(

Get a different offensive playcaller, get 2 new starters on the offensive line, have a young WR step up and have the team stay healthy and this team would be in competition for going deep in the playoffs.

I wouldn't put too much stock in what Saban said in this regard, I'd be more skeptical Jerry would ever let a personality like Saban back in the building. I don't think things would ever be comfortable or fun for Jerry with Saban around. Except possibly on game days

So on Thursday, Saban -- who has tried to denounce the story about him potentially going to Alabama numerous times in recent weeks -- again, and adamantly, denied that he's headed back to the college ranks.

"I guess I have to say it," Saban said. "I'm not going to be the Alabama coach."

We all know the rest of the story

YEAH!!!!!!

Let's give up, and walk out on the party before it even gets started.

Then when we hear the Party is actually nice, let's just sneak back in and pretend that we had faith all along.

laugh it up.....I believe he is here for the long haul

I believe if Jerry were planning on only giving him 2013 they wouldnt be making all these coaching changes.....they are not gonna overturn the whole staff and then fire Jason if it doesnt gel immediately...

so brace yourself next off season youll be using this emoticon :tantrum:

Ignoring the quitters would be the best thing we can do.
