Say for instance that either Hawkins or Holly make this team from 4th and long, how long is it going to take before we hear a compliant by an owner of another team? The Eagles would be first in line in my opinion. They would say its an unfair advantage to hold an open tryout on television. Or, they can work free agents out extensiley over weeks but NFL teams only have a day to evaluate.

After watching every show and I think most would agree, we can elminate everyone besides Holly and Hawk. Maybe an outside chance for Montrell Jones. Anyways, I can see Hawkins being a speacil teams ace. He has alot of heart and has the speed to return kicks. That is a huge positive for him. Holly, on the other hand, has that size and abilty to catch the football in tight spots. He reminds me of Bobby Sippo if anyone remembers him. He was the reciever who tore up the Arena League a few seasons back and the Chiefs signed him a few days into training camp and he made the team. That was when they were on Hard Knocks and they cut Rod Gardner to keep him. Holly would be in the same category. He would come in as the 10th reciever on the chart and he would have to make his way up the chart. Opinions

No one from 4th and long makes this team. Rooting for Holley to win though.

It really isn't any different than any other team having their own "pass, punt, kick" competition try outs.

The only difference is that Dallas has the draw to give a third rate cable channel their highest ratings ever while televising it.

Hawkins was my favorite although Jones and Holley have the attributes you're looking for. It's hard for us to evaluate the DBs. With no pass rush and just you and a WR it's hard to cover anyone consistently. So one of those guys could be a jewel and we wouldn't know it. OTOH, they could be a lot less than a jewel. All of them.

Frankly, I'm surprised the league allowed it to happen. I certainly can see how other teams might view it as an unfair advantage especially if they do it again and get a much better group of players. However, I guess there's nothing stopping any other team from doing the same thing except they don't have the fanbase to get enough ratings to get the thing on TV. If they try and do it with legitimate NFL-caliber players, there will be complaints because it would be a multi-week tryout where they could sign some of the losers before the show even airs if they proved good enough to bring to camp.

Not yet on the show, but he's already signed for a CFL team, which means he was cut in the show, we just haven't seen it yet.

Other teams are unable to hold open try outs?

I really fail to see where a complaint could come from.

He wasn't a kicker, he was a Wide Receiver, who was their special teams ace for a few years. His name was Vince Papale. The movie was "Invincible."

I've seen him speak in person - he is a very motivational guy.

Maybe he was talking about Tony Danza's "Garbage Picking Field Goal Kicking Philadelphia Phenom"?

I loved that movie. I love most football movies: Rudy, We Are Marshall, Friday Night Lights, Remember the Titans and of course North Dallas Forty.

I thought someone on here stated that they saw Holley playing pickup ball at UNC? Not sure how that relates to him not winning the show, but I would think he would be working out with someone on his football techniques...

I like this show. However, none of these bums are NFL level players.
