Birds lose tonight, sooner or later someone is going to bring up we're not out of it.

Am I also the only fan who gets tired of "who do we want to win tonight" questions from the group here because the team isn't good enough to get into the playoffs on their own terms?

I will never root for the birds, but there is a part of me that get's tired of this false hope that somehow we can back in the playoffs and it's only a question of how many games are left to play to see the mathematical possibility we can get it.

If there was ever a chance we were going to make a run to the Super Bowl IMO it was in 2023, and what happens after that from the head office? We like our guys, only until the following year where we get yes men to coach the team.

Who knows, the birds lose 3 and the boys win 3, and we are mother freaking in and lookout baby!!!

Don't worry, even if Philly wins I'm very confident the Chargers are going to lay down a whoopin' tomorrow.

There are all kinds of fans. I try not to worry too much about those who fan differently than I do. Makes life a whole lot more peaceful.

That doesn't mean I don't get irritated by both the eternal optimists and the eternal pessimists at times, because I try to live in reality (and sometimes succeed). I just no longer see the need to get worked up over a game, especially one that my team hasn't been superior at for 30 years, so I try to keep that in mind. That has kept my sanity intact.

Regardless of how you feel that doesn't make it true and by the way we heard this before game one in Philadelphia we heard this at halftime get of the 21 point deficit against Philadelphia we heard this before the Green Bay Packer game I mean do you remember all that talk about Parsons revenge game and they couldn't even beat the Cowboys we put up 40 points on that defense Yup even with parsons on the other side.

So again the any given Sunday it applies you thinking we're going to get our **** kicked that's the game we probably are going to win I mean seriously it's like they start to give the Cowboys flowers and expect them to win they lose you expect them to lose they're going to pop up and win.....

And, of course, there are those who will lash out at you for daring to fan differently than they do.

Why do you care what other fans do or don't do how they feel if they decide to have hope or not have hope who is it to judge?

I want them to win every football game possible period end of story there is no other part of the season there is no tanking there's no worrying about the draft that's not why I waited for the longest offseason in any professional sport For the shortest season in any professional sport I don't spend all my time and energy to hope for a loss So I'm going to go into these last three games the way I went into the first fourteen I want to see them win..

Go into the offseason with all our predictions all our doom and gloom all the nonsense that goes on in here but hey you want to be a negative Nancy a doom and gloomer you even called yourself a bad fan you must feel guilty...

A lot of us and I'll just speak for myself I don't put conditions on how I'm going to be a fan that somehow linked to winning and losing that's not how it works for me i'm not going to say if you're going to have this drought and not do what I want in the all season if you're not bringing in the players I want if you're not bringing the coaches I want I won't watch anymore i'm going to boycott my team no that's a condition...

It's kind of funny 'cause the irony here is the rest of the league some of the worst teams in the league that are far worse than us still feel their stadiums up they're still wearing jerseys they're wearing hats they're they're buying things they're cheering all the way to the last game They don't want to see their team lose there's a small percentage of people that worry about such small things like Oh my God we're going to lose draft spots..

How you worry about the draft in April when the draft comes but you can start talking about the draft in February when the season is completely over but even then it's annoying the the 150 mock drafts I have to hear I think the NFL needs to change how long they wait to have the draft I prefer to see the draft early like in March Have free agency anytime I mean why does free agency have to begin at a specific time isn't it when the season's over when contracts run out and the league year starts there should be free agency from the beginning to the end but how do you know what you need if you don't know what your draft's going to be so I don't even want to talk about the draft it's backwards in my opinion on how they do it..

You don't need to over think and try to figure out things once the combine's over it shouldn't take that long to put together a draft board I think people waffle they go back and forth they overthink and that's why they overdraft quarterbacks or take guys too high or really good players drop in a draft because they over think because they have too much time that's why they're starting to shorten the time that you're on the clock in the draft but they need to go further than that....

Yes maybe on the back fan because I want them to win every game no matter what no matter the circumstances or the situation they're in with their record I want them to win them all.....

And, of course, there are those who will lash out at you for daring to fan differently than they do.
But he's exposing himself and bringing light to himself it's unnecessary why do you need to post now he wants us to debate this and he's hoping somebody comes out and does this because somehow he's needing validation but being aware they're gonna be people that lash out so it sounds like he's lashing out at us passive aggressiveness is lashing out we can feel it fans who want them to win that don't want them to tank we're feeling this I mean I feel like he just called me out How's it any different he's being passive aggressive and other people might be very aggressive it's all the same.

Feel like I'm being judged why should I be judged because I don't want to get on the tank team I don't want to get on the dooming gloom train I don't want to give up on the season before it's actually over I don't want to talk about tanking and the draft and all that other stupid nonsense but when you make a special post about it you probably should expect negative feedback..

People are just glutton for punishment they come in here and make statements like this and not expect it...

I hate that "we need X to win/lose" stuff. If your team is good enough to make a real run then you're not saying that.

The ONLY remote possibility that Flus gets fired is if we lay defensive eggs the next 3 games
If there is even a glimmer of ‘competence’ he’s coming back
As opposed to the eight or nine eggs Flus' defense already laid in 14 games?

Fans are Fans
This is not the only fans of a team that complain.
Hell I remember years ago visiting some colts fans on their forum and there was a contingent that was basically calling Manning a loser that they need to move on from. They said he put up big numbers but always choked in the playoffs and they needed to move on..

So every fan has fans of different stripes. Just part of human nature.

Some fans will be tired of other fans because they have opposing views on various topics.

There are some that will defend any bad choice the FO, Coaches or players do and refuse to call out or admit to the problems.

There are others that will do the opposite. They will complain about things no matter what it is.

Those two extremes are very annoying to the fans that can see both good and bad. Who are not to rigid to trap themselves into various narratives.

More often than not, those that are too rigid in their stances often claim to be Realists. Which is really not correct. Because they can't admit the good or bad about things...only one view point.

So...fans are fans. Some you agree with, some you will not.

Concerning this issue...I will never root for the eagles unless it somehow benefits the cowboys...Like if the Eagles win a game, it would help the Cowboys in some way. This will not be the case this weekend.

However even if the Eagles lose, I seriously doubt they will lose the rest of their games while the bipolar cowboys win out.

I am NOT for trying to tank games to gain better draft picks. However at the same time if there is no way to make the playoffs...I would rather them start playing some backups for a few reasons...

I would like to see some other players that normally do not get time on the field to be get evaluated. Give them a chance. This serves the purpose of seeing if they are wroth keeping. It also serves the purpose that if they play good, you might be able to trade them for something.

The other main purpose is not to let important players get injured in games that do not matter. This team has enough players that get injured a number of times and/or just coming off an injury like Overshown and Revel and so on.

Ok....long winded old man shakes fist at the sky babbling over.

Who's to decide it's unnecessary? We have all kinds of fans with all kinds of opinions. They choose to express those opinions in all kinds of different ways. You want to attack an opinion because you feel like you are being judge, then that's how you fan. Some can't ignore an opportunity to attack.

I want the team to win because I enjoy watching victories much more than losses. I also don't have expectations for success, so I just try to live in the moment, week to week. I had some trouble doing that when so many were getting excited about the playoff possibilities, but I try to keep myself just focused on the moment so the big picture doesn't disappoint me.

That doesn't mean someone "who gets tired of this false hope" is less of a fan than I am and deserves to be derided for it. It's just his opinion that he wanted to share. If his opinion bothers you, and you want to respond negatively to it, then, as I said, that's how you fan and that's up to you.

As I said, some will lash out at him for daring to fan differently than him. I think we can see from your post and Rockport's that that is true.

I actually feel like we may beat the Chargers. Cowboys know they're not making the playoffs so there's no pressure. This team crumbles under pressure
True, but I think they're just a significantly better team.

We do have the "West coast team playing at what feels to them like a 9:00 am game" advantage, but I doubt it's enough.
