I'm a bit gutted

After watching the NFC Championship, I'm rather gutted. I don't know if we'd have beaten Philly, but I definitely think that we would have given them a better fight. For as much as this forum rips on Dak, he's usually money against Philly. He knows their defence better than pretty much anyone else. He usually has their number. Our team would've matched up really well against Philly imo. I know some of you are going to think that I'm mental for saying this, but I genuinely think that, had we beaten SFO, we would be going to the Super Bowl. I think we were a better team than SFO, and the stuff that SFO was getting beaten on were things that we shut down on Christmas Eve when we last played them. What could have been?

It really hurt the 9ers that Purdy got injured..

No way we could’ve beat the Eagles without Pollard. We would’ve had zero running game. If we beat SF and Pollard wasn’t injured, I agree with you…we would’ve had a great shot.

If Pollard had stayed healthy, I definitely think we'd beat Philly. Even without him though, I think we'd have made it at least a more respectable game. I don't think we'd have gotten embarrassed like SFO did. That's why I'm gutted. I think this team could've played better than it did, and it hurts as I've never seen us in the NFCC. I was in preschool the last time they were in the SB.

With Pollard and a FA replacement of Cooper and a legit #3 maybe....otherwise, no way.

Maybe not win, but I do think, even without Pollard, we'd have at least made it a more respectable game. I don't know if we'd have won, but we probably would've kept it closer.

Don't do this to yourself. It's not good for mental health.

I suppose, but, as a young fan who hasn't seen a lot of success, I can't help but wonder if this might have been our year. 2014 and this season feel like the closest I've been to seeing us in the SB, and I really think we might be done it this year if Pollard had stayed healthy, and we had advanced to play Philly.

Well injuries are part of the game.
I think we needed a healthy TP to have had a chance against the shegals..

Actually that RB from the Gators looked decent in his limited snaps this year.

Yes, and I think he played a bit against Philly. As I recall, he was quite good against them too. So yes, I can't help but feel a bit gutted as I think we'd have made it an instant classic, even if we didn't win, if we'd been able to play Philly.

Well it would have been our first NFCCG in 27 years so that would have been welcomed.

He does seem to have their Number so to speak.

Exactly, which is why I wasn't terribly afraid of Philly. Just as the 49ers were practically in our huddle last week, Dak is practically in the Eagle's huddle with how well he knows them. He can read their defence like a book and has shown that often. So, he'd probably have been why it'd have been a classic. Instead, we were so predictable that the 49ers practically were in our huddle.

Yep I would have loved to see our chance against Filthy...

Well, and that's why I'm so gutted. Plus, with all the Hurts talk, this could have been the game where we finally saw Hurts and Dak at their best playing for a SB. How fun would that have been? It'd have been a chance to determine MVP, and we could have had a really good match against them. Instead, I think we missed out on a classic that would've gone into football history as one of the greatest games of all time.
