I'm all for OL in the draft vs. BPA or defense

My premis is that you will get better long term value from OL in the frist round vs. the sexy hit/miss pick of BPA. Now the good news for us is that our needs and the BPA will/could be a gaurd in the form of Decastro. My thought is that it's much easier to spend free agent money on proven talent in defense (CBs) than to draft them.

I think it's much easier to pay for veteran linemen because they have longer careers than DBs.

There's no guarantee that Decastro will be there at #14.

Do we pick up the 2nd best OG at #14? No freakin' way !!!

Get the BPA. We have holes the size of the Grand Canyon to fill.

Hate to sound like a jerk, but your premise really doesn't make much sense.

BPA is somewhat open to interpretation. You can have a pure 4-3 OLB on the board as you next best player on talent alone. Will/can a 3-4 team draft this player? I think not.

There'a always a good bit of that going on and in my opinion the team is still drafting BPA. It's just BPA for them and their system.

Either way, BPA means more in round one than it does in rd two and means less with each rd. The"gap" between your 55th ranked player and 60th ranked player is certainly going to be closer than your 5th and 10th, or in our case this season, our 14th and 19th ranked players.

Point I'm making is that the Cowboys need/should draft the BPA who fills a need at 14 or trade down.

Spot on. I get we need help on the oline but our defense is not intimidating anyone late in games. Too many blown leads and game that we should have won due to our defense. Please fix the defense. Look at the giants. Hate the fact I have to say that
