I'm Concerned About Burnett

they said he could not lift his head and they were holding his back...almost got knocked out according to Mick.

RECAP: Mickey with D&M on The Ticket - 07/30/07...Burnett is the one to worry about. He almost was knocked out. They were holding his neck and his back in the endzone. I asked one of the trainers why they were doing that and they said he couldn't hold his head up and they were helping him support it.


I have not read anything more detailed than that. If anyone finds any updated news on Burnett please post it.

I sure hope he is alright.

last I heard it is a concussion

With all the talk from the league office about concussion and the league wanting teams to be more responsible regarding head injuries I think Phillips is just playing it safe.

From today's Mid-Day report:

Phillips said it wasn't fair to say linebacker Kevin Burnett suffered a concussion from the blow to the head that caused him to leave Sunday's practice and miss Monday morning's workout, but that Burnett had a headache and the Cowboys will be cautious regarding his return to practice. Burnett felt no neck pain today though, which he did after the injury.

That was a little worrisome (the part about him not being aboe to hold up his head).

However, if he wasn't holding it up because he was woozy and his head was kind of lolling about, then that isn't the same thing as him being wide awake and unable to hold his head up because of his neck.

I think it was likely the first way and he was just knocked woozy.
