I'm confident that Cowboys win after this statement by Newman yesterday

I watching BSPN yesterday and I heard newman say

"See if you take the BIG PLAY from the Eagles it's hard for them to score and drive down the field 80 yds"

That lets me know he does his homework on the Eagles and knows what to do to make things difficult. That is the kind of thing you want to hear from someone in the secondary.

I feel good now

Its difficult for any team to do that. Thats just our defensives style of play. We will let them dink and dunk, and stop the big play. Its how we played all year.

Its why you see wide receivers running open in between the secondary and linebackers.

It was just good to hear to hear a defensive player on this team say the same thing I do to Eagles fans all the time at my job-lol

It's also why we've limited teams to a lot of Field Goals.

Yeah it was Newman that was Trailing Jackson by five yards down the middle of the field when Mcnabb missed him last week.

That makes me real confident. :bang2:

As long as he communicates to this to everyone else in the secondary then we should be fine. You have to remember that the Eagles have not won a game this season if they didn't have a big play. No Big Play on Offenese or Defense and they don't win.

No, but not because of anything Newman did.
As I thought, it was just another useless comment meant to remind people that players on the Cowboys are not perfect and we shouldn't get our hopes up.

Thank you, thank you for your noble efforts.

But it is not philly style. There are teams who are more than willing to stay patient and put together 10 or 11 play drives to get a score. Philly is not one of those team. It is also not McNabb strong suite.

If you watch him on the deep throws he will rotate his hips to the target and release but on the short passes on many occasions McNabb does not rotate his hip back around leaving it open and cause him to put some balls into the ground.

I do think Dallas has to be careful of the Eagles trying to throw the quick outs to Jackson since they have had problems getting him the ball deep I would expect they will try to get him involved in other ways.

And also if it was just about Newman maybe, this is a team Defense I am sure pressure made the throw hurried. TEAM not just one single person makes this TEAM go.

Newman may not be the best CB on this team he is however playing good football.

remember, it does not just have to be a big play on the Off side for Phillthy, The Boys' cannot give them a big play defensivly with a short feild or spec teams as well........obvious as it may be, everyone seems to be just concentrating on Jacksons "big plays"

These are the results of their drives that started at their own 35 yard line or worse.

....

Out of 31 drives, they punted or had turnovers on 24 of them (77.4%), scored touchdowns on 3 of them (9.8%), and kicked field goals on 4 of them (12.9%).

That means they score on less than 1/4 of their possessions for a total of 33 points on 31 possessions.

These are remarkably terrible statistics.
