When Payton was here I was ripping him a new one week end and week out because I claimed he had NO imgination or creativity. He was predictable and boring and I wanted him gone in the worst way...

I was absolutely convinced he had more control of the offensive game plan they he obviously did.

He goes to New Orleans and shuts me up BIG TIME. Not only was he very creative, but flat out masterful in many situations. He simply schooled BP in his own house...

Because of this I've been silent on Zimmy...I don't know how much of the blame goes to Zimm or BP??? I don't know if the 3-4 or the 4-3 is best for this team as we have enough good players to play either one at this point.

The one thing I am convinced of...is that we have the most talent on this team since the 90's, and to watch us fall apart or play scared is nuts.

Not sure about you guys, but this team confuses me:
~ Is it BP?
~ Is it lack of passion by the players?
~ Is this team not smart?

All I know is that in the end it comes back to BP...not sure if want him back or not, but the one thing I can't help but wonder is:

If Payton was HC would we have been better???

Any coach walking onto this team will have a ton of talent...that I know.

Ya, gotta make you wonder......often been said that Bill Belicek with the Pats was really the mastermind early on in BP's Tenure out east........

and now the coincidence with S. Payton success after moving on.......

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I dont know how the Pats are structured, but they find more low round gems for their OLine and Qb, wr's and db's than most
---I still give the Pats a decent chance to get to the big show, just do

and now Payton takes several Dallas castoffs, Colston a steal in the 7th, and give them a good shot at running the table

Anytime one side of the ball isn't performing, we blame the coordinators. That's just the way it seems to go. The offense didn't perform well under Payton. For whatever reason, the move worked out for both teams. The Saints (whose team was very talented on offense) put it together and had a bomb year, and without Payton, we averaged about a TD more per game.

He didn't have a Bush or T.O. for defenses to have to scheme against in Dallas though

I don't have any idea how much Payton is involved in the offensive playcalling in New Orleans. Surely he looks over the game plans, but I don't think you can look at New Orleans and just cry "We should have bailed on Bill and kept Payton!"

What, you don't think this team would have dominated the NFC South? It already did.

I think Peyton is a good coach, but it's not like he has a bunch of scrubs in New Orleans, especially on offense.

Brees - one of the top QB's in the league (better than Bledsoe)
Duece - one ot the top RB's in the league (better than Jones or Barber)
Bush - the perfect opposite of Duece, and someone who in open space is scary good. (I'd have to say better than Jones and Barber)
Horn - alittle long in the tooth, but still a very talented WR. (Equivalent to Key last year, probably better)
Colston - they hit a HR with this guy. One of those who'da thunk it. (Equal to Glenn, if not alittle better)

Plus the addition of the Katrina element. This is probably the biggest effect on their season. The way that city is pulling for them, heck the way America it self is pulling for them. There probably isn't too many coaches who would have gone into that enviroment, and not repeat what has happened this year.

I know alot of people try to say "It's amazing how they have recovered from Katrina and pulled it together like this". I know it sounds pretty crappy, but I'd say it was a HUGE advantage to them this year. That team playing with that type of motivation every game, your going to get that 115% from each and every player on that team. When you have players playing like that those who might not have all that much talent raise to a level where they are equal if not better than most.

Wait, what. I think we made the right move to let payton go. and yes i know we dominated the south, well, except for their only good team... :bang2:

I mean this offense would have been better with Payton if we had T.O. last year and Payton was made to look better by R. Bush being one of the most versatile players in the game.

Sometimes, when I say "you", I don't mean "you". I mean you in the sense that I'm asking a rhetorical question to myself - which is redundant. It was rhetorical, you didn't say anything about the south, I was just putting that out there. I should have phrased it better.

Its ok... I am too... lots of Crow... things changed when he was calling ALL the shots... though he has some great talent in NOLA.... Bush, Bree's, etc...

Many props
