Good evening Cowboys fans,
I truly come to you this evening with open arms. I wish I could give each and every one of you a big Pirate Ship-sized hug.
Your season ended Sunday. I knew when the clock read three zeros that the game was finally over and you could togetherly lick your perspective wounds. Let the record show that I did not appreciate Brett Favre and company throwing a touchdown pass when, obviously, the Cowboys were not ready for it. I even saw Brookings running over to the Viking sidelines to yell, "Hey, we weren't ready...do over!"
Unfortunately, Brookings's comments were thrown to the deaf ears, however, as a fan of another championship team, let me say that this will be a learning experience for all who wear that star proudly all year long. You have to show up to play and this does not change in the playoffs. Trust me, a couple years ago, the pewter and red road into the veterans stadium and beat the Eagles...beat 'em bad. In that game, the Eagles were too trying to throw the ball when time was running out, however our guys were ready. A young chap by the name of Rondejuan Barber took a poorly thrown McNabb pass the other way for a cool six points. This added an exclamation point at the end of the sentence. The sentence being the NFC conference championship game.
Sure, Wade's no Raheem, but he will get that team going before you know it. You have one of the best QB's the Cowboys have had in recent years, some WR's and RB's and a TE named Jason Whitten. That silver cloud tells you that it's only a matter of time before next season rolls around and we all have clean slates where we can carve greatness again.
See you in Tampa next January!
Thoughts?
