I'm mildly alarmed.

My sister has MS (Multiple sclerosis) She has had it for a few years now, since she was around fifty. Any way she has been after me to be tested for some time now.

I have been putting it off for some time now. Tonight I finally bothered to look up the symptoms of MS. Out of say Fifty listed I have or have recently started having several of them. Some come and go and I have always attributed them to age and my Diabetes.

Now I'm not so sure. I have a doctors appointment today for a regular office visit and plan to tell him whats going on. And see what he thinks. Like I said my sister found out when she was Fifty. I just turned Fifty and theres a 1/40 chance of developing the condition if you have a close family member with it. Say a...Sister.

Wish me luck! :)

A couple of things.

A few years back, Larry King had a roundtable of some of the best MS doctors in the world on his show along with celebrities such as Montell Williams who suffer from the disease.

A woman called into the show and said her mother had it and wanted to know her chances of getting it and all the doctors said her chances of getting it was just as good as anyone else's who didn't have relatives with the disease.

Also, all the doctors said that MS was a young person's disease. Young being in the 30s when you realize you have it, according to them.

But anyway, good luck.

Good luck Clifford! We are all rooting for you!

The last person to call me Clifford was a kid in my 4th grade gym class. They found him last Tuesday. :)

Well I talked it over with my doctor and he said I don't have any thing to worry about. But, he did schedule me for a MRI just to make sure. Cool...

Great news Cliff.

Going online to check your symptoms is usually a recipe for disaster. I know it is for me as I come away thinking I have meningitis, brain tumour, liver and kidney disease etc

Like those old tests about alcohol where it asks you a series of questions that just about everyone says yes to, and then says, if you answered yes to any of these questions, you might have a drinking problem. One question was "do you usually need a drink before trying to meet people of the opposite sex". Well duh,,,,
