I'm proud of how the team played

What a great effort by the Boys. They came out and played for 60 minutes. Orton stepped in and did a great job. The defense that has been decimated by injuries (19 different defensive linemen) kept us in the game. It really looked like everyone gave their best effort and left it out on the field. Where was this effort all year long? If they had played like this in most games, we would have had 10 or 11 wins. So the question needs to be asked ..... Why? I have my own answer, but I want to know what everyone else thinks. Other than a few spots, we had a rag tag bunch of guys on defense last night and we gave one of the quickest and best offenses in the league a game. Turnovers were our demise, but the effort was there and the curse of Jerry ultimately was too strong to overcome. He's not going anywhere, regardless how much we b**** about it. We all know that. Think of the guys we had on defense last night, a bunch of no name defensive linemen, linebackers that were completely outmatched and defensive backs that just couldn't come up with the clutch stop that we needed. I didn't expect the Boys to win, knowing the usual outcome in year ending win or go home games. But boy, they fought until the end. So again, why not this type of effort all year long? smh

The Boys fought hard no doubt and I'm pleased about that, however I'd be even more pleased if they fought hard and won.

At some point effort had to translate into wins.

Just looking at the guys that they trotted out on the field tonight, I am inclined to agree. looking at the overall cost associated with the team in general, they are a colossal dud.

One of the jobs of the HC is that he gets his team ready to play .... every game. Whether you are playing the worst or best team in the league, you get them ready to play. They looked like they were ready to play tonight but was that because Coach Ginger may have thought he was coaching for his job? Desperate people do desperate things in desperate times. I don't know if that is what happened, but it sure looked like it to me.

Sorry, but being "proud" of the effort is a loser's mentality and is one of many reasons this franchise has been mired in mediocrity for a decade and a half. This is a results driven business, not a high school ream. The fact that we almost won doesn't make me one bit happy. The fact is that for the third year in a row we came up small when it counted the most. I'm not even mad because I expected it. Apathy has hit this fan base HARD. We now have fans that are proud of the effort after the third straight season-ending loss to another division rival??? Sorry, not me.

Jerry and Garrett have successfully lowered the bar to just trying hard. Sad that so many buy it.

Newsflash, scores of coaches get fired every year even though their players try hard. Think Mike Singletary's players didn't play hard?

But it's a results business. At least for the rest of the world. At the Dallas Football Cowboys, some effort and a sold out stadium are what matter.
