I'm truly sick to my stomach over this loss and I'm dreading facing the Steelers fans tomorrow, but let's step back and look at this loss in perspective...

Did you notice when each team scored all of their points? Yes ... it was when they were going with the wind. That wind was such that it nearly eliminated any pass beyond five yards. I read on this board that Romo was erratic today. Compare his passes going with the wind vs. going against the wind ... they were considerably different. BOTH QBs looked bad throwing against that wind.

The Cowboys lost to a very good team in THEIR house, and this is a team that has a very big home team advantage.

So, what's the good news? There are several pieces...

1) The Falcons lost today to an NFC opponent, which means...

2) As of right now, the Cowboys are in the playoffs and control their own destiny.

2) The Eagles beat the Giants today, showing that this is not an unbeatable team. In fact, they're seriously hurting. Their best WR is suspended and their starting RB (the only one that scares me) is hurt. The Cowboys get the Giants next week in Dallas at a very good time.

3) The Commanders, as I'm typing this, are getting trounced by the Ravens.

I think the entire team (except Romo) played really well today. The defense looked agressive and looked like the better defense. Romo's turnovers and the miscue on the put gave the Steelers alot of extra chances.

Choice played really well, The line blocked as good as can be expected and Gurode didnt float his snaps.

This loss is totally on Romo. He had a bad game and i can live with that. We have won many games because of him and he was off today.

Im happy with the effort of the team. If Romo can play a half decent game and the rest of the team play like they did today we will beat the Giant next week and go in strong into the playoffs.

Good News: We control our own destiny.

Bad News: Romo is making all of his detractors look right and we go as he goes.

I'm just concerned with how many times Romo has been "off" in December and January the last 3 years. It does not give me much confidence in any must win game that is for sure. I'm affraid we may have another Vinny Testaverde on our hands. This Steeler game was there for the taking and Romo couldn't even make enough plays to get us more than 1 TD.

How many times was Peyton Manning "off" in December and January before he finally made it to the Super Bowl?

Not saying, but I'm just saying. This team is not the New England Patriots of the early 2000s, playing in a league largely with absolutely zero parity.

#1 Romo doesn't have the time they had. he's already 28 years old

#2 Romo has more weapons than any other quarterback. if he can't win with this team he's a bum.

You all should turn in your Cowboys fan cards. This forum makes me sick sometimes.

You have "In Romo We Trust" as your tagline! :lmao2:

romo doesn't have the demeanor of a champion. did you see him on the bench? that pissed me off so much. would aikman/brady be sitting on the bench with a sad face in the biggest game of the season? HELL NO. i don't want to hear about the wind either, big ben was throwing balls 20 yards on a dime. romo needs to toughen up or this team is going to get destroyed in every december he's here

romo was missing people by 5 yards the entire game. i saw ben have a couple of bad throws, but romo's just made you wonder who the hell he was trying to hit with it.

When the wind chill is zero, I would imagine it's difficult to get a good grip on the ball.

I would have felt a bit more comfortable had Romo worn gloves for this one. I bet he will next time.

Wow...Big Ben struggled greatly today and wasn't throwing things "on a dime". We could of easily sacked him 2-3 more times and our secondary was pretty damn solid for the most part.

Whats really bad is we have to put up with this negativity for the rest of this week and we don't play until Sunday NIGHT! I hate late games. :bang2:

I saw Ben make a myriad of bad throws, and never did he deliver the ball "on a dime."

The perspective is, this team ONLY goes as far as Tony Romo takes us. Hey...I think its great he is a good guy, changes tires, takes bums to movies, hey....solid. Wade is a good guy too. But the problem is, Romo does not have it mentally. He thinks turnovers are funny. It's like the wild crazy preachers daughter who does blow. BP preached ball security above all else from his "bus drivers". Now, BP is obviously gone, and the inmates run the asylum. I think Tony enjoys thumbing his nose at "conventional NFL wisdom"....cause he's just SO brett favre and talented, so he can jedi this team back no matter what, a few turnovers dont matter.

Heck, he has said it. "I think if you aren't throwing interceptions....you probably aren't a good QB." (I know the FWST staff had a good time with that quote, inferring that Tom Brady isnt a good QB since he protects the ball so well)

So what are we left with, our team...our Cowboys, who win or lose based on how our bi-polar (either smiley after turnovers or pouting) quarterback. The fact that our defense played so well (and they did) and we still lost...just depresses me more, b/c it reveals how easily careless Tony can poop on the outstanding effort of his teamates and single handily lose a game b/c he REFUSES to accept the "daddy knows best"...and you simply (Bill Parcells leaving lesson #1)..."CANNOT TURN THE BALL OVER, YOU CAN'T DO IT!" Take it serious Tony, BP has forgotten more about football than you'll ever know.

One of our championship QB's Troy said it late in the broadcast...you simply cant do those things as a quarterback and expect to win. But keep laughing it off Tony...
