With these Sunday afternoon games, a lot of times I'll record them, spend some time with the family while avoiding contact with the outside world, and then watch the game once my kids are in bed. So, I just finished watching the game in my own "time zone".
I haven't been this pumped up about the Cowboys in a long, long time. Here's why:
-The obvious ... we just beat one of the best teams in the league with the best quarterback over the last several seasons, breaking their nine game winning streak and giving them their first loss of the season
-Manning rarely had time to think back there. Our pass rush was working!
-Romo is THE MAN. This was a big stage: His home debut as the starter in what was essentially a national afternoon game against the unbeaten Colts. He didn't look like his nerves were bothering him too much, other than that one mistake on the interception. I guess no one can possibly doubt that he's our QB of the present and future. Being a pessimist, I've been waiting for the other shoe to drop, but it appears that sucker is going to stay suspended in mid air.
-This is the beginning of what could be a nice string. We've got Tampa in four days ... that's a very winnable game. Then we have a week and a half to prepare for the Giants, who are pretty dinged up. A four game winning streak would put us at 9-4 and in awesome shape to get into the playoffs at least as a wild card.
-No one got seriously hurt tonight. The Newman and Henry injuries scared the crap out of me, but thank goodness neither was serious. With only a four day break, there's no time to heal.
