Im starting to believe we listened to the media too much about roy

how is his coverage skills so bad?i recall him getting beat by owens on that monday night game but other then that what else?

im not sayin hes a great cover safety but he is nowhere near as bad as the media makes it out to be or some of you guys.

Yes they put him back at strong safety because hes better suited for that position but that doesnt make him a BAD cover man.

I don't think he is a bad coverman just not his biggest strenght, he does his damage around the line of scrimmage. He showed that his rookie year and he showed in week after week at OU. The guy is a monster when playing up towards the line.

If I remember correctly Roy got beat because the cb blew his assignment.

He actually was pretty good at that as a rookie. Remember that pick against the Jags (I think it was them) down the sideline? I remember reading an article when he was coming out with a scout saying how good he was in coverage or run support. But, if you recall, he pretty well stunk last year in coverage.

To me Roy has average cover skills to this point of his career. He could improve and he is suppose to be in better shape this year. He got way to heavy last season imo. But playing on the line of scrimmage is where he is dominant. No one can intimidate a wr over the middle better than Roy though.

I agree! Check my post! I just want somebody tell me when he's getting burned? As bad as they say he is, somebody should be able to tell me who burned him?

Roy has decent cover skills, but he is great at line, why take him away from there?

Please the probowl just plays S, they dont care where you line up, in fact the S are so limited on the field hey shouldnt even play(not that should)

It's not about being burned, come on we gave up 406 points, your telling me Roy never was out of postion? PLease Roy is a decent FS, a great SS, sorry if i dont want a 6th round rookie playing a postion that already has a great player at. Sorry for using logic

im just wonderin why people say he cant cover.And of course he was out of position sometimes,ever safety is out of position occasionally but for the most part roy did a good job at free safety.its hard to play at a great great level when everybody in the secondary besides you SUCKS.

yes newman sucked last year until the end.

Once again most people dont think Roy sucks at coverage..but he isnt as effective at FS as he is at SS so why move him for a rookie?

You put players in position where they can succeed....Roy is a decent FS.....a excellent SS IMHO.

The problem with Roy is or was a biscut short of being a LB trying to cover alot of space.

He should thrive in the 3-4 as a strong safety.
