It very well could be be Jaxon Smith-Njigba or Zay Flowers at 26. I would be happy with either one of them. Either one of them upgrades our receiver group. It will be interesting on what they end up doing. So far, I would be happy with Mayer, Gibbs, Robinson, Schmitz, Foskey, one of the corners, and now the 2 receivers. That is about 8 or 9 players at this point. I wonder how many of them will be available?

How could you not?

It’s the biggest weakness in the team and we’re in desperate need of a #2.

Welcome aboard the WR train.
Yep, I think that all of the players mentioned above are a possibility. They really need defensive tackle also, but I don't think any of them are good enough to risk taking them at 26.

Welcome aboard the WR train.
I re-watched the top receivers this morning:

-Addison is clearly the best in the class, really reminds me of Smith from Philly. His frame does scare me though.
-Want no part of Quentin Johnson
-Hyatt's speed jumps off the screen, he is going to be drafted very high after he runs at the combine. Might even be the 1st taken in the draft.
-JSN is an elite slot player. If Cowboys become more run first, excellent guy to move the chains and find holes in the zone.
-Flowers/Downs-just cannot see the team drafting such small receivers both size and weight. No doubt these 2 are good, but not for the Cowboys.
-Boutte-a lot to like, but we have heard about immaturity issues. Could this be our 2nd year special this season?

If I had to rank them for the Cowboys:

-Addision
-Hyatt
-JSN
-Boutte
-Johnson

Think these 2 will be off the Cowboys board.

-Flowers
-Downs

I think JSN is more than a slot (like he told Steve Smith Sr.)

If Michael Thomas, Kupp and Keenan Allen can play outside so can JSN.

I agree, but his best work appears to be in the middle of the field. He kind of reminds me of an more talented Randall Cobb.

What say J. Gibbs at 26 he’s a weapon with strong receiving skills. Let’s say Gallup comes back. Gibbs is a problem for defense you got a watch form to run it or a receiving threat.
at 58 Bergeron. The tackle that could move inside.
deserves a lot of our offensive problems and provides protection.
how much else we provide for defense it’s fine with me

Flowers is listed a 5'10" and 172 pounds. JSN is listed at 6'0" 198 pounds. I'd prefer the bigger player.

I think Johnston gives you value just in being 6’5 and likely running in the 4.4s. He’s raw, but with that type of profile you could just feed him go / slant / crossers etc while he develops and you probably still get chunk plays. Similar to Watson last year.

If Flowers / Downs aren’t on our board this FO is dumber than I think they are…which is saying a lot.

The difference is all of those guys had quality tape winning outside consistently as prospects.

The problem that I see is that I don’t expect any WR worth the 26 pick to be left on the board. I think there will be a run on WRs before the Cowboys pick.

Downs is about the same size as Hilton.

You’re probably right but I hope not…
It's not me not liking either player, just looking at their draft history. We also have to consider them wanting receivers who are an asset in their run game, as blockers.

It’s just so dumb considering how great a connection Dak had with Beas. Everyone were talking about have such higher ceilings.

Funny you mentioned Beasley, think JSN could be much better in that same role. Basically Shultz does the same thing over the last few seasons.

Love Hyatt, Gibbs, and a couple of the CBs at 26 if any are still there
