JERRY...BROKE ???? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA YEA RIGHT....THAT MADE ME LOL

Maybe not broke but getting cheap - the balance of this year's player moves suggest that.

normally i'd say I agree. but not when we just drafted 12 players and the best one is a kickoff specialist

a kickoff specialist?

more like THE kick*** special player

:laugh2: he is pretty cool. I actually get pumped up when we get a touchback now:)

Even if Jerry did say something about financial restraint in player spending...he likely did it to make a point.

Ware's agent must realize Jerry isn't going to spend $200 million to sign DeMarcus.

But c'mon, Jerry will spend the money on players. He MUST because he has to continue to sell tickets...AND he has his pride at stake as GM and head coach.

When there's nothing else to talk about the Cowboys (yeah we lost, but teams lose), they talk about the stadium. They were still talking about it on the Scott Van Pelt show today, no less, which was shocking to me as Van Pelt has typically been one of the more professional guys.

This stadium helps the economy. Especially in Arlington. And it helps Jerry, not hurts him.

Think about it, Joe. Do you think Jerry would have built a stadium without taking everything else into account? And by selling out every game and securing even more of these corporate sponsors than we already had because of the stadium, don't you think only good can come of it?

The only think Jerry is losing out on right now is the lack of a naming rights contract, but that will come eventually.

Jerry undoubtedly dipped into his pockets for a huge chunk of money to do this. There is an old saying, to make money you have to spend it. Jerry will make so much money he will never realize a pinch from all he spent to do this.

Think about it, you finance a car rather than pay cash for it total. Jerry did the same thing here. He will be mortgaged for a while but this Stadium is a money magnet and Jerry is a marketing genius.

He has faults. No doubt about it, but he will never be broke.

First Report
MOVING ON
The new Cowboys Stadium has a retractable roof, platform decks, party suites and $40 million, 600-ton video board. Yankee Stadium, with its special features, nears the end of its first season. Today, "Outside the Lines" discusses the cost of these stadiums in a recession.

supposedly jerry jones talks about the stadium, and not going to spend money on top players, free agency, etc next 2 years due to money he has spent on cowboys stadium
That would be a good thing. He almost always overpays for some loser who never pans out.

Last Sunday nite, a pregame interviewer was trying to trap JJ into the theory, that with the new stadium, and if NFL goes into a period with no Salary cap, Free agent etc.......that JJones would now have an inherent advantage (ala NY Yankees) in grabbing talent over other teams.....

Jerry threw back at him....."the Pie" is bigger for everyone,
