They talked about it on HBO's Inside the NFL last night.

And yes, it would be talked about over and over if it was T.O. Or Randy Moss and perhaps a few others.

because "t.o attempts to commit suicide" is more compelling then " decent nfl player assaults man at dennys" to the media

It's only the best station ever created.

No kidding, the best shows on TV are on Hbo...sopranos, entourage, the wire......and the best...curb your enthusiasm...

anyway, that story is sickening. Why is manning still on an active roster along with maurice drew, why are they allowed to act like animals and not get in trouble..

This is disgusting. He should be suspended and riciculed and forced to do community events in jewish temples and go to gay and lesbian events...

What a loser.

He is lucky he wasnt a cowboy or he would have been suspended for a few.

Wow, just read that, it was the first i had heard.

Why is it when stuff like this happens, there is no one there watching that jumps into the fray. If i saw something like that going on id have to get involved

You mean they aren't still playing "Raiders of the Lost Ark" over and over still?

I gave up pay channels along time ago..just never seemed to find anything I wanted to watch.

It's usually the History Channel or TLC or whatever now days. Except for football, of course!

Charges were dropped against Maurice Jones-Drew. From what I read, he was there, but he didn't participate. At least that's the story.

I certainly don't shy away from helping another human being if they are jumped and can't help themselves.

When I was a child. My father and I were going to dinner. We were behind this black and gold 1979 Trans-Am at a stop light. It was a side street so there were really no cars but us on the light at that time. Im in the backseat and I see the driver of the TA (big guy) punching his girlfriend. I mean he is hauling off hitting her like a man. The next thing I know my father is out of the car and has the guy pulled out his window (his windows were down - no innocent windows were harmed in this story) and is beating the piss out of him.

Im shocked. I know my pops had a temper but was always cool w/ us kids and my mom. Just a great guy. I guess he just snapped. He was just trying to help the woman I guess.

So get this - The girl who was getting the beat down gets out of the car and runs over and starts hitting my dad. My dad stopped fighting and just looked at her - turned around and got back into our car and we went to dinner. He never ever talked about it to anyone. Not even mom's.

To this day - it has never been discussed. Odd huh?

It did teach me that you dont have to walk tall in this world of ours - but sometimes.....you do gotta stand up for whats right. Help your neighbor. Help a human. Dont turn a blind eye.

One time I was about to be given a swirlie, when this really nice guy flushed the soiled water before dunking my head. I'll never forget that act of kindness.

Without uduly stirring the pot - I think the author brings up the most salient point of this entire incident: "What if the attackers had been white?"

I doubt the only person reporting this incident would be a beat reporter for the NY Post.

The white comment is absolutely white...sad that it happens that way.

Great point. I hate racism and prejudices no matter what the color/gender/sexual preferences are. I wish this kinda activity would just stop.. He needs a huge suspension just like Haynesworthless received.

while me may be right in that he essentially had no choice in pleading to felony assault to stay out of jail and avoid the wrath of a tough judge or jury (in MD, there is a 99 year limit on simple assault, and 15 on felony assault, strangely enough), from what we know, it sure sounds like he and his buddies were just abusing an innocent guy. if true, what an ***.
