Imagine if....

Ron Leary was still here.
Brandon Carr was still here.
Either Barry Church was still here, or TJ Ward was signed.
Terrell McClain was still here.
TJ Watt or Budda Baker was drafted instead of Taco Charlton.
Tony Romo was given a chance to compete for the starting QB job.
Zeke wasn't going through court battles.
Dallas traded for Brandin Cooks or signed Desean Jackson.

This season looks bleak, but that's by the Cowboys' own arrogance and decisions.

Not making the playoffs would be a colossal failure and their own fault.

LOL.

I like how you slid your inability to let Tony Romo go fetish into the middle of what is actually not a bad list of things we should have done.
He shouldn't have had the opportunity to compete for the starting job?

I'll never understand why he wasn't even given that chance. He deserved the chance.

Ron Leary was still here. I'm okay with this one. Too expensive.
Brandon Carr was still here. Much better option than Nolan Carroll. Would have preferred Micah Hyde.
Either Barry Church was still here, or TJ Ward was signed. No on Church, Yes on Ward.
Terrell McClain was still here. Yes.
TJ Watt or Budda Baker was drafted instead of Taco Charlton. Taco was a safe pick but Watt might be the pressure player we need. You can add Kevin King as someone we could have drafted.
Tony Romo was given a chance to compete for the starting QB job. Love Romo but Dak is playing just fine. No issues here.
Zeke wasn't going through court battles. That's all him. Can't blame the team for this really.
Dallas traded for Brandin Cooks or signed Desean Jackson. I've wanted that homerun, deep threat #2 WR for a long time so Yes.

This season looks bleak, but that's by the Cowboys' own arrogance and decisions. Incredibly accurate.

Not making the playoffs would be a colossal failure and their own fault.

Thing is, even with Leary, McClain, Church and Carr the Cowboys still put up 30 points and allowed 34 to Rodgers. I'm starting to think it's not necessarily the players.

I don't agree with all of them, but everything on that list could easily have realistically been accomplished.

Keeping Romo while signing back Leary, McClain, Church and/or Ward?

Trading a first for Cooks AND spending a first on Watt?

Maybe if we we restructured Dez and Crawford(I know the OP doesn’t want to do) and we traded Dak for a first round pick to spend it on Watt...since we just traded ours for Cook.

Insert any available speed receiver with pedigree.

I don't really think that gets us anywhere personally. The key to the Cowboys success is ball control and keeping their D off the field. Last year that was the recipe. Up til Sunday, we were not very good at ball control at all.

Run D is probably the biggest difference from last year at this point to me on Defense. Ball control on offense.. Denver, Green Bay and the Rams ran all over us and thus the 3 losses
