Imagine Thinking The Team Has No Plan

Thats what I am seeing based on a lot of the posts I am reading today. The 'tone' or 'frustration' in the many posts are suggesting the Cowboys are just utter trash, the coaches are terrible, the QB is terrible, the defense is soft...

During the offseason there were a few discussions where posters pointed out that is looks like Dallas is doing a reset based on how the Cowboys were handling money and contracts. If I remember correctly, the discussion suggested Dallas might be doing a 2 year reset/rebuild/cap cleaning.

To try and sell it that tons of pitter patter injuries are plaguing our key starters, now our QB has an injury that can linger for weeks(convenient for a tank?), known company man Zeke is drumming up drama for Jerry(remember last time Cowboys decided to tank, Zeke fumbled 4 times in one game), Diggs trying to leave the game because of an injury, that mysteriously we have a game where we have 5x the amount of penalties and most happening on 3rd and short, long time Defensive guru as DC cant call plays to stop a run...

Youre gonna tell me it all coincidence? Worse...we have to keep discussing in threads like its just bad foootball play? For the remainder of the season?

Whether you like Jerry, the Jones', the Cowboys or not....whether you think its been 29 years of trash run football with no plan ever...

This is a planned tank, with all coaches and players in on it. Tank. That is a plan, whether you have faith in the FO or not. This isnt bad football by coaches or players. And...no one should have to defend any player or coaches decisions based on performance this year. This was planned. Zimmer isnt trash. Dak isnt trash. So on and so forth. But I see posts constantly suggesting players or coaches are trash based on this years planned tank.

Im sure someone can dig up comments from weeks past where I am fully discussing the team as if its trying and me being critical of players or coaches...but I also have posts showing the possible tank as well. But the band-aid has been ripped off and everyone knows its a tank now...which had been suspected for weeks now.

Conspiracies fall apart when there are too many variables. If Jerry didn't pay his No. 1 QB and receiver, if he did even less in free agency than he did, if he traded away players for picks next year, then yeah, you probably could say the tank was planned. But planning a tank around injuries, around your DC failing on purpose, around penalties being called against you, around Zeke's behavior, etc., belongs among the out-there conspiracy theories. You would have to have the owner, the coaches, the players and even the refs colluding to make it happen. That is just too far-fetched.

If this is a planned tank, then Jerry is more stupid than I thought, and that is saying a lot. You don’t hand out $376m on two players just to rebuild the team entirely. Two players who probably won’t be around if this team ever sees better days.

Barnum of a salesman has the knowledge, talent, organizational skills, and efficiency to orchestrate a top down conspiracy involving every player, coach, and executive in the franchise working in seamless coordination to tank the season?

Just exactly what goes through the head of an 80 something year old professional sports team owner, nobody knows. One day this, next day that. Hell, it's hard to follow, but one thing is for sure. He'll not see another championship and neither will we. The signs are all there.
 
When Jed didn’t fire Mike after PO debacle, then said all in, then did nothing in FA and then added Zeke. You knew even he had to know this team wasn’t that good.
 


It's easier to digest this at 75% playback speed. These guys are all fast talkers...

It cannot be a planned tank or there would be no point in handing out the deals they gave CD and Dak right before the season started.........unless the plan is to tank for the next several seasons.

Jerry was in position to either......

(plan A) sign Dak and Ceedee early and sign 2 or 3 quality FAs still in their prime and go all in , for real

(Plan B) Not sign either player nor free agents and let the tank occur organically, thus getting a rookie Qb and still signing Ceedee after the season.

Either of these would have worked but he chose (Plan C) which is sign both players at historically high contracts late AND not get real FA help.....what a bung

Yep, it all points to having no coherent plan which should surprise nobody. .... but there's always a few.
