So... If our 1st ballot Hall Of Fame quarterback, Drew Bledsoe, plays "in character" against the Giants and crumbles under the pressure of a real defense will we now have a full blown QB controversy on our hands? or will Parcells continue to stubbornly support the aging thinker statue at the detriment of the season?

I sure hope we win this game but I have this funny feeling Valley Ranch is going to be very busy next week.

I don't think Parcells will have a problem pulling Bledsoe if we're getting blownout. Remember, our losses have been close and its B-soe's mistakes (as well as others') that have lost the games for us.

If Bledsoe is stinking it up AND we are getting throttled, I think Parcells will think about Romo.

Anything is possiable. If Bledsoe is the one making the mistakes and not just the end result of someone elses mistakes and or is turning the ball over a lot then yes it could open the door for Romo. However I don't think the plan of the Cowboys is have Romo as this years starter and stubborness has nothing to do with it. Bill is playing the guy he feels can do the best job regardless if some fans want to believe it or not.

Parcells is on record as saying that if his team is getting killed he won't yank the QB because he feels the QB "should go down with the ship."

No way is Bledsoe a 1st ballot HOFer. In fact, I think he doesn't get in unless a miracle happens.

That was a very facetious/sarcastic statement by me. There's no way he gets in unless it's with a daily tour ticket. I share your opinion.

I haven't really weighed in on these QB threads, but I do have a question for those calling for an immediated change. Recognizing that it is only your opinion that Bledsoe can't win if we get to the playoffs and not an established fact; what would be your reaction if the change was made and we immediately lost to the Giants, Carolina and the Skins? Bringing Bledsoe back wouldn't an attractive option since he would have been dumped without even being injured.

What we would have done would be to take a promising season and flush it down the toilet, just because some take it as a FACT that Bledsoe can't win in the playoffs, when it is actually nothing more than opinion.

Don't get me wrong here, I really am kind of anxious myself to see what Romo can do and how he would hold up in real games where defenses have game planned against him. I just think we have a promising season ahead of us and changing QBs based on events so far in the season is scary.

So how would you feel if the change was made and we went on a losing streak (which is a very real possibility)? Would it have been worth it?

There's a very real possibility we can go on a losing streak without a change. Our schedule doesn't get any easier. With regards to replacing Drew and then putting him back in, something tells me we wouldn't have to worry about the putting him back in part. Besides, he's supposed to be such a gentleman and stand up guy. He should be able to take his benching just as well as he took it in NE. If he's a real team player he would be ready to go back in if called upon.

No, I'm a fan of getting Bledsoe out as quickly as possible so we at least have a chance to make something of this season

I can't agree with you on that. I want to win, period. Romo can ride the pine forever if we keep winning.

In a perfect world, I would agree

However, this is not a perfect world, Bledsoe is a detriment to this team, and he certainly isnt getting any younger.
