am I the only one who is getting very tired of all the cheap nicknames everyone has for our Cowboys Stadium ?...Jerry World, Boss Hog bowl, Jerry Dome, Death Star, and Jones Mahal..........hes given us the best stadium in the world and gets no respect out of it......it irks me cause it is disrespectful to the Cowboys as a team and their home.....
to hell with what they think of Jerry or this current team ..this is a historical icon of a team and this is their new home

( cue the ...if Jerry would blah, blah blah, then everyone would bla bla bla crowd

Part of the problem is everyone was waiting for a big announcement on the new stadium name and sponsor. Then nothing.

Part II, it would help if we would win games like the stadium opener vs. the G-men.

Part III, some of the luster has left our team. We are not viewed as a Super Bowl contender, most only consider us a long shot for the playoffs and then expect us to lose. The downward spiral started in December of 2007.

Part IIII, while we are still America's Team and the most popular team, we also the most hated team in the league.

Add up all the parts and there you have it. Respect is earned and we have not done anything to earn it. At least my .02 cents worth.

I'll be the first to say Jerry brings it on himself. He asks for all the attention and loves it good or bad. Half of the average fans dont know the owners you just mentioned. Jerry will be promoting Jerry World on Leno tonight.

Every team goes through these problems or variations thereof, so I don't buy your reasoning. The OP is right; it's just people's way of showing disrespect for the Cowboys.

Winning will only make the hate and disrespect worse. It's a win-win :D

Wasn't there a poster on here claiming that the Cowboys played poorly against the Giants and Panthers because the Stadium was a distraction?

I just don't understand why people just can't enjoy the Dallas Cowboys and everything associated with the Dallas Cowboys and just tune out all the negatives, whether real or perceived.

Me, I like when the Dallas Cowboys are being talked about, whether the topic is negative or positive.

I have no issues with stadium or names or anything like that. But if I had to pick something it would be this.

Eli Manning was said to have written something in his locker in NY that read something like this, "New Stadium, 33-31 Giants win"

NOW, the only way to wipe that out and make it a non issue is to meet Giants in playoffs and host that playoff game there AGAIN. Win it and eliminate the Giants.

All we need is for Giants to lose next game and we win next game and ITS ON(5-2 4-2). I think they could actually lose 2 of next 3. We have to take care of our own business.

screw the stadium. id take a super bowl team in the cotton bowl over this medicore team in the taj de jerrah. how is that for respect. its just a building, and imo, a gawdy, over the top, excessively extravagent, waste of money. i realize im in the extreme, extreme minority here, but thats normally how it is when you are right.

Actually, when you're right, people normally agree with you. You're in the minority b/c your opinion stinks.
