I don't do this often here, but I'm getting the feeling some of you would like to get the loss off your chest. That's why I'm posting the link:

My job as a street sweeper at the Texas State Fair is weird, especially the hours.
Last week, they had me off on Sunday. So, I took a flyer and went to the Fifth Annual Bloggers Game. Truly, if not for my job as a street sweeper at the state fair, there's no way I could have gone. If I was still living in my parents' basement, I wouldn't have the money to travel down there or the shame to borrow it. And I'm glad I went. It was a very lean year for the Bloggers Game, so all hands needed to be on deck. The attendance has been down the last couple of years, but that's nothing a little better communication and logistics can't fix.
This past Sunday, they had me working as a street sweeper. Okay, fine. It's the 3-11 PM shift. I can understand that. I'll have more on that experience in a moment.
Then, this upcoming Sunday, they have me working the 7AM to 3 PM shift! That means I'm not going to even see the Seahawks game. That means I won't even get to see Drew Pearson's induction into the Ring of Honor.
What's more, they've got me working weird hours during the week, mostly second and third shift. So that cuts into my time slots to do the Imperial Report.
Anyway, so, for the Eagles game, I asked the folks at the Y to DVR the game for me. Then, I had to turn off my phone once 7:20 PM arrived, or else I'd get text messages, Twitter updates, and telegrams from other fans commenting on the game. Well, my co-workers relieving me that night are Cowboys fans too. So when my shift was over, I had to rush to greet them at the door to tell them to not say a word about the game.
As sure as I'm sitting here in Starbucks with what's left of a venti Java Chip Frappuccino at a wooden, circular table with my laptop and an African-American gentleman my age and a "GRE" textbook and a laptop in front of him at the next table talking on a wired cell phone headset -- what was I saying again?
Well, my co-worker's face said it all. I could tell by the look on his face we'd lost. I could just tell. And on top of that, I was getting weird feelings during the game, even though I wasn't watching. Fo' ril -- I wrote them down and will share them on the show tonight. At 8:13 PM Central time, I felt a disturbance. I wrote it down. You know what happened at 8:13 PM Central time? Sean Lee hurt his wrist and was out for the game.
I'm dead serious. Even if I don't watch the games, I can feel what's going on.
When I get very in tune with this team, I'm more right than I am wrong. In 2009, I predicted we would go 11-5 and win a playoff game. People later got on to me after we won the playoff game because that was the ceiling for my prediction. Sorry -- it's what I saw.
I had us at 2-3; just switch the Commanders and Lions games.
This Eagles game took me by surprise, as it did the rest of the team and fan base. I don't think this performance is indicative of the rest of our season. While I begrudgingly congratulate the Eagles, this performance is not indicative of their season either. There is still a lot of football left to play.
The only good news is we have a chance to erase this taste from our mouths. In past seasons, losses like this have been the codas for the season (e.g. 44-6). This time, we have nine games to efface this from our identity and memory.
No one reads all that I write, but I know they listen to what I have to say. So listen tonight at 10 PM Central to another swinging edition of Cowboys Imperial Report.
And I'm not going to bump the thread. It is what it is. They'll listen or they won't. I know CowboyMcCoy, Hostile, CowboysFanSince67, and Yakuza Rich like the show. Maybe some of you do too. #meh
