Impressed by Owens' attitude

Funny how negative threads about Owens are hot all day, but one that is positive is on the 2nd page before lunch.

No it is not in my head, I think there are other things that you should be doing rather than being all smiles and sipping on some Gatorade like it is a brew. Don't act like you don't give a damn especially when you are the one screwing up.

All your saying is how you would react but not everyone is going to react the same way and playing mind reader based on a sideline camera shot means nothing.

I hope that is a sign of things to come, lots of TDs with no elaborate celebrations afterwards.

I dont think its due to complete change in attitude by Owens on that TD. He is simply not a total idiot I guess like Bryant, celebrating when you are down. Yes that TD was good, but he knew, they had a very slim chance of winning the game, so no point in trying to celebrate that TD.

Right, he will celebrate when the time is right, we all should realize that.

I look forward to it even though I don't like EZ celebrations.

Had he scored and made it 17-0 and done one of his EZ celebrations, it would have fired all of the Cowboys players up.

I look forward to watching him this year, that is if DB can get him the ball.

I have to be honest, I never liked TO celebrating, same like Deion. But when Deion was with Cowboys, I did like his dance when he scored. And hate to admit it, I was waiting to see what TO would do if he scored.

man.. Bledsoe is so sorry now I dont even think T.O. can make him a pro bowl QB..

and he even made Jeff Gaycia one. :bang2:

Owens tried to give the team a spark and did manage to bring in a poorly thrown pass for a touchdown (he had to twist around almost backwards to catch it). But Bledsoe's mistakes negated the effort. Captain Bledsoe's mistakes.

I have seen Herschel Walker say in an interview that he does not like showboating or EZ celebrations, but when MI would do his first down point, or a great EZ celebration, even Herschel would get fired up !! :D

I for one, did not want TO to be a Cowboy, But after game 1(only game1) he handled himself in a positive professional manner.

Ok after game one. I am for TO, but lets see how this season goes

My comments in blue...

We should have thrown to Owens more. Yes.

The Jags had no answer for him, they couldn't stop him. Yeah he was open alot

And any of you athletes that were watching knows what a great catch that was on the TD. That was pretty amazing.

I think he played his position as well or better than anyone else yesterday. Agreed.

We paid him a ton of money, let's get our money's worth by throwing him the ball, ... a lot. Agreed.

I was surprised, but pleased that he didn't celebrate his score, it wasn't the right time. Yeah he looked like he felt the team wasnt gonna win this one. But he never quit. Never pulled a Randy Moss.

If the media and haters will leave him alone, I think he wants to do the right things, I think he wants to be a good teammate, and wants to be a good employee. I believe you are exactly right here. I have felt that has been the case for some time now.

Don't expect many TO TD celebrations this year as long as Bledsoe is at the helm.

I wouldnt be able to say that with any confidence.... that game was not a typical Bledsoe game. I expect him to bounce back.

Actually threads are moving pretty fast if you hadn't noticed. And this isn't the first thread praising Owens on his play and demeanor yesterday.

Don't be so sensitive. :)

It was nice to see Terrell's' passion channeled in a positive way yesterday on the sideline. I had not seen such a display since Michael Irvin retired. His post game interview was as good as it could be considering he was talking about a loss. He said all the right things and spoke well of his teammates.

His play on the field, speaks for itself.

Sensitive ??

OK , I'll work on that, I just think fair is fair.

Sure, he may have jumped too far into the deep end of the pool in the past, but if he is trying to climb back up the ladder, they shouldn't keep putting a foot on his head and shove him back down.

The sensitive thing was a joke, but the rest was not. I believe Owens has gotten his fair share of props on this board for his play yesterday. No, there may not be 100-post threads giving it up to him, but he's been given his due in quite a few threads.

And really the fact that he did nothing to spark a 100-post thread is a good thing. Today is the first time in a long time that TO was not a hot subject on this board. He did his job, did it well, and didn't embarass the team in the process. Can't ask for more, IMO.

As of now TO is the last thing this team is worried about...with Bledsoe right at the top.
