I think Randle is going to surprise the football world.

The guy, IMO, is a really good runner. Instincts and vision, which are vital to a great RB.

We will soon see I guess.

He surprised me a lot last year with his quickness, burst, and speed. His rookie year, he didn't impress me at all. Was he hurt or something?

I realize he was coming in with fresh legs against beaten down defenses last year, but the difference between his rookie year and last year was like night and day. I'm hoping he can be the guy this year, and look forward to seeing what he does in the preseason.

Some guys just take a year or so to acclimate to the NFL

Agreed. Night and day difference.

His first year, Randle looked small and slow. Last year, he looked quick.

How differently would we think about Randle if he didn't make those boneheaded offseason mistakes?

I get the sense he realizes he's in a runners paradise and will do what he can to seize this opportunity.

Here's to hoping.

Very good point
Just on his skills he looks to be a guy who can fill the RB role. Not the same back as Murray but has the skills to get the job done
Hopefully he has learned from his mistakes because he is about to get the chance of a lifetime and it's the best and possibly only **** he is gonna get

I think this job is randles to lose. Randle can make a name for himself behind this line and cash in the long run.

I agree. Ill go a step further and say that Dallas will have a problem on their hands. Granted a good problem because I believe McFadden will show more than just flashes of his old self and the Cowboys will set a new standard in how to build a running game during a "pass-happy" era.

Couldn't agree more with this. I can distinctly remember watching him during his rookie year and being completely underwhelmed. He just seemed so completely pedestrian in every way possible. Then this past season he put that impressive burst and breakaway speed on display a number of times. And he seems to run with a purpose; I think he's a more powerful runner than he appears. Hopefully he can develop some of the intangibles that Murray had, or at the very least just refrain from being a knucklehead.

If they can stay healthy, I'm confident in a 2-back system of Randle and McFadden.

I feel pretty good about it... or actually Randle. I think McFadden might be ok but Randle is the one I've been saying for weeks now is going to really shock the football world.

I think he is a real, real good player.

I know a lot of people are saying, "What has he done?", but I expect big things out of him.

There is absolutely no reason (besides some dumb legal matter) for Randle to not succeed.

I think he's going to be big time by mid season, with NFL network, ESPN, etc. saying where did this guy come from?

Rappoport is already reporting from Cowboys camp that Randle is the "surprise" lead dog, and not McFadden.

If he does light it up... everyone will be on the bandwagon like they predicted it all summer, lol.

He had some pretty impressive runs at OK St. I think he is going to surprise some folks also. Still glad we didn't overpay a few months ago.

I still can't figure how he didn't get more carries last year. It's not as if Randle looked bad out there whenever he did get a chance - he had nice runs over and over. But he'd get in and have a nice run and then they'd sit his butt back on the bench and somehow Murray ended up with 392 touches and Randle had 57.
