Improved Cowboys Can Run The Table

A major knock on wood here, but this is the healthiest Dallas has been in December since the team has become competitive this decade. Blame Romo or Wade/Parcells all we want, but I think we know that injuries played the major part in those collapses. I see no reason why Dallas can't beat New Orleans. Very well written thread...I've got no beef with optimism!

I think that we had all of our starters going into December 2007.

And too many of Parcell's defensive leftovers to do anything. Jacques Reeves, thy name is the Mud out of a cow's rear.

We also had Roy "I can't cover a bottle with a bottlecap" Williams, and Anthony "Who's Man Is That?" Henry.

Yeah that was a pretty weak squad overall in 2007.

No but our few week spots turned out to be our achilles heel.

The focal point of the offense, TO, having a high ankle sprain, and Glenn wandering around with 'life insurance' might have had something to do with the storyline. Wasn't that when Julius and Marion were trying to figure out load amounts in the running game as well? Then there was the recovering Tony Romo who had chin stitches, bruised ribs, and trying to readjust to throwing after a broken finger....

In a stunning comparison, the New York Giants - yes, the ones the Cowboys play this week in the Meadowlands, are quite similar.

Cowboys Giants
2006 2-3 2-3
2007 2-2 * 3-2
2008 1-3 1-3

Bet those nay sayers weren't aware of this fact also...yet the Giants have a miracle Super Bowl win that was set up with just such a run.

It's definitely possible they can make a run. They just have to show they can do it.

And, I do see though that the year the Giants won the Super Bowl they did have a winning record down the stretch (3-2). But yeah, winning or losing in December doesn't necessarily translate into what will happen in the playoffs. The problem in Dallas though is that they haven't been able to post a winning record in December or win a playoff game in over a decade.

Hopefully that trend will change, but right now that's the monkey they need to get off their back.

At some point you just have to be real.
Ok, what thought in that whole OP isn't "real?" You can argue everything on there, but I don't think its unrealistic.

The Trolls have spoken ..... its virtually impossible because they have not done it in over a decade.
