Ha! He is some kind of a hole. .How does someone miss the massive suckage of Jason Garrett? I think he is a black hole disguises as a person.
I wasn't going there but don't mind that you did.Ha! He is some kind of a hole. .
Finally someone in these forums with common sense... Garret is a pathetic wannabe excuse of a coachGarret sucks! I love the win, but we need a MAN as our head coach.
Just out of curiosity , why do you like Jason so much?Great thread. Thanks for starting it.

I agree with you on most things. I give him a lot of grief, cuz as a former coach, I never blamed my players. I always took the blame when things went bad. It comes with the job. I don't see him doing that. Although he did take some blame after the Philly game.I've covered variations of this a bunch in many threads, but in a nutshell, one, I don't necessarily like him so much as I defend him so much. I defend him so much because he's subject to a lot of silly criticisms, which is what happens when you're a figurehead and the team disappoints. It hits the QB or the HC.
As a coach, what I like most about Jason is he's a smart guy and a stabilizing influence on what's otherwise a circus of an organization because of the owner. He does a really good job of giving the media absolutely nothing. The media in Dallas is more than happy to tear the team apart if they're allowed to. He's done a good job putting a staff and a support organization together. We draft well and develop players well under Jason. He has the respect of his players and his coaches. I like that he runs a respectable organization, overall. And I like that he was a Cowboy as a player, too, but those two things are mostly just nice-to-haves.
There are things I don't particularly like about him. His staff is pretty middling when it comes to game days. I don't love the offense he runs. But generally speaking, fans put too much emphasis on what they think they see on game days. It's much more important to find and develop players than anything else. After 7 years, people are always going to second guess play calls that were bad or that didn't work, but if you have the guys who can execute, the play calls are a lot more likely to work.
The thing I like least about him/the organization under him is that they've not done enough to address the lack of defensive talent for 5-6 years now. Some of that time they were spending resources on the OL, which I get. Last year they addressed the DBs, which is nice. And they've tried to address things and just whiffed, which I recognize. But they just haven't gotten it done, and it keeps getting us beat against good teams. That's where the clock is running on him in my book, but given how much chaos Jerry creates, and given that I do actually think the roster is pretty close and just in need of a couple of actual defensive playmakers, I don't want to blow it all up and start all over from scratch again when I have very little faith that the next guy will even tick all the boxes Garrett manages to tick.

It would be interesting to see what he could do without Jerry forcing coaches or players down his throat.
Because he IS Jason Garret!! I mean look at those crazy ping pong eyes and his red mop!!Just out of curiosity , why do you like Jason so much?
