Phillips has shown he's a gamer and even looks quicker. Something about Bennett just says lazy to me. I wasnt sure at the time but looking back now, to think we could have added another 1st seems like a steal at this point.

Hindsight, i would. Bennett has no clue how to be a professional and is not focused on football (maybe someday he will grow up). I actually think he has regressed this season. Phillips should be playing more.

This was never proven as fact, therefore continued speculation over it is a waste of time IMO.

All Jones ever said about th trade (this is fact) is that a team inquired about a player from our roster and offered a "starting calibar player" in return. He never offered any other info.

Phillips looks like Witten V2, I want him over Marty B. But we had no way of knowing that back then, so in retrospect yes, back then no.

We are not rebuilding!! There is no point to stockpile future picks while We need as many as good players NOW.

So you qualify Bennett as a good player now? Interesting. I'd be inclined to take a 4th and a player. The guy is a major dissapointment and plays like he'd rather be doing something else.

I would not write off Bennett just yet. I had high hopes after coming out of pre season and he would have a great year but that has not happened but by the same token I saw Miles have some great pre seasons and not do much afterwards. Be careful about pulling the plug on young players too soon

No way...he'll still be worth a #1 in the offseason.

He's a great blocker, able receiver, and most athletic of all our TE's. He has a huge upside, and while he's just now getting healthy, I expect he'll have a key role in the playoffs.

If Witten went down in the last game or the first quarter of the playoff game, would you be content with only Phillips, the rookie? How valuable would that next April #1 in your pocket feel as you watched our playoff hopes go down the toilet.

Before his injury, MB was blocking his tail off...he was catching the ball when thrown to him, and on a few occasions showed he's a much more dangerous runner with the ball in his hands than Witten.

I wouldve taken the 1st but it has yet to be proven that it was indeed a 1st... There were lots of rumors though. I heard a 2nd, I heard a 3rd.... In all honesty I would take a 3rd today for him... I know we took him with a second but with the developement of Phillips I think Bennett is very good trade bait...

I think in the draft we need an OT, a safety and a de..... hopefully in that order..lol.....

Back on target though, This is just a rumor and thats all.... Bennett=the next Coakley....hahha
