In hindsight, should we have dealt Romo to the Jets?

And gone with Henson as the backup?
I do, although he may not be proven and not every team can carry a backup QB as good as their starter, but Henson might come into his own if he got the PT (either NFLE or backup reps in TC) and we brought in a rookie/ proven vet like Griese.
In return we would have gotten that midround pick where BP has had lots of success drafting roleplayers (MBII) and future starters (Canty and James)
Drew doesnt seem to be one to get hurt, so why dont we pull the trigger? He is tough enough to trade off a future starter for a younger, less proven QB.
Why didnt we trade him if the rumors were so true?

While the story about the 3rd round pick offer may be bogus (tho the Jets could hardly field their waterboy at QB then), Payton, certainly knows what was offered.

Just one scenario to think about...the Jets' season. They went thru FIVE QBs because of injury. And that's the second time in recent years they've had their season derailed because of QB injury (happened under Parcells too). Or the Bears last year, going thru multiple QBs.

Yes, in hindsight with Bledsoe having stayed healthy all year, we could have traded Romo. However, maybe they see more in him than in Henson--or at least did for this past year. Given all the *****ing that this board has had about Parcells not having more OTs on hand, you really think the team should have potentially gone short-handed with QBs? And if we had traded Romo, & Bledsoe HAD gone down, that would have left Henson & who?

I very seriously doubt there was a 3rd offered, Maybe they asked about Romo and we asked for a thrid and they turned it down. But I highly doubt it was offered to us

For that matter, if Bill likes the kid so much. Then why does he go out and sign the worst immoblie QB's to be the starter for the past 2 years. Put the kid on the field and see what he can do or trade him.
