In my opinion, New England's contender window is closing

Gronk is done for the season I do not see the Patriots winning the Super Bowl this year. To me as far as Brady goes he has this year and next. I do not buy the theory that he will play a long time into his 40's. I'm giving him next year to play well even though he will turn 40 in August. I think he will not be the same at 41 and knowing Bellichick I would not be surprised if he cut bait with Brady after next year. It sounds crazy but the Patriots are known for getting rid of players before you think they would, and maybe Brady will feel he has a little left and play at 41 on another team or retire a Patriot.

Anyway I just feel with the Gronk injury they probably don't win it this year (hopefully the Cowboys do) and both Brady and Gronk will be seroius injury risks for next season. I'm not sure they win another Super Bowl.

Being 40 isn't an "injury risk" as for his knee. Doesn't seem to be hampering anything.

It's common sense the older you are the more likely you are to get injured, being 40 is absolutely an injury risk. Father time is undefeated. There is very few players in the history of the NFL who played at age 40. It's not a coincidence it's because they're older. I have the history of the NFL on my side Show me the players that played through the age of 40 injury free in the history of the NFL. I guarantee it's a incredibly low percent. You must be a Brady fan but he is nearing the end, deal with it. Even if he gets through next season healthy it's probably their last opportunity to cash in and get another Super Bowl.

This thread is more wishful thinking than anything. Brady isnt going anywhere any time soon and neither are the Patriots.

As long as Bill Belechick is the coach of the Patriots, they aint falling off.

It's not wishful thinking when it comes to Brady, it's the history of the NFL where Quarterbacks had success into their 40's, show me a list of those. Wishful thinking would be if Brady was 35 and saying he would be done the following year, but I have thousands and thousands of players that show very few were successful in their 40's. Belichick rebuilding the Patriots with another Quarterback is another argument but I personally believe it's unlikely they'll win Super Bowls once Brady is gone unless they strike gold again with another great QB which is possibly but not likely. I'm even giving Brady the age of 40 to possibly contend if he and Gronk can stay healthy next season, but that's the cut off. No one has done it at 41 and he would have to prove me wrong.

Why people think Brady has discovered a youth fountain that no other Quarterback ever knew about is beyond me. Yes I'm aware he has a good diet and exercise program it's not like he's the only one that ever did. Father time is undefeated.

If Belichick is the genius people think he is he would dump Brady after this season and win with another QB but he can't. He has this year and next to win and then it's highly likely he's not going to win anymore Super Bowls.

I'll bump this thread a little over a year from now when I'm proven right but if Brady wins a Super Bowl or even gets to the Super Bowl beyond 41 years of age (two years from now) I'll gladly bump this thread and say I was wrong.
