I still think Radiohead is the best band in the world. In Rainbows just keeps growing on me. 15 Step, Reckoner, Faust Arp- all brilliant.

Knew you'd feel that way Jem. It is another great release from the most important band of the decade.

Some of my other faves this year are Sunset Rubdown, Animal Collective, Besnard Lakes, LCD Soundsystem, and Jens Lekman.

The Bends and Kid A were good.
I dont know there to depressing for me sometimes, and after they started there techno beats pff.

Most important band of the decade? thats debatable big time.

Reckoner is my favorite.

Great album all around like usual though.

Did you download it from their website? You can give any amount of money to buy it, including $0 :laugh2:

Listening to Reckoner right now. The outro has a bit of an A-ha, 'Take On Me' reference (I know that's bizarre, but it's what I hear.)

I paid $5 to download it and I've asked for the disc-box for Xmas.

What about Ok Computer? For me, their only so-so album is Pablo Honey, and even that has the seeds of brilliance.

Ok, here we go, top 10 Radiohead songs (in no particular order):

Paranoid Android
Pyramid Song
Planet Telex
Talk Show Host
Banana Co.
Morning Bell
Everything In Its Right Place
There There
The Tourist
No Surprises

It's too early to put any In Rainbows songs on there, but I suspect Reckoner, 15 Step and Faust Arp could make it soon!

I love depressing music! So how do you think is the most important band/artist of the decade?

For me, it's Radiohead, followed by The White Stripes and Beck (although I should rephrase that to say that those are my favourites of the decade.)

Call me crazy, but I have tried to listen to Radiohead numerous times and yet they still do nothing for me.

I dont understand the hype around this album. I listen to my fair share of electronic music, and the LCD Soundsystem album was flat out boring to me. Its better than that silly Girl Talk shiz, but I think the album by Justice is far superior when it comes to mainstream electronic music, and obviously the Burial LP is a cut above when it comes to the lesser known stuff.

OK Computer is unbelievable. An absolute masterpiece that I think ranks right up there with the best albums of any artist.

It's not crazy, it's just the way it is. However, I can't get enough of Radiohead.

Burial, Justice, the Field -- all of those I've enjoyed as well -- LCD Soundsystem is something that may be best enjoyed by those rooted in the influences -- namely Joy Division/New Order -- I'm programmed to respond work based on those influences when it is done well, as LCD does. Plus, he takes a bit of the seriousness out of electronic which I appreciate. His label has put out some great records recently -- Hot Chip, Shocking Pinks, The Rapture, Prinzhorn Dance School.

You have to like music without an inventive melody or any emotional payoff to enjoy this album.

Me, those are the two biggest things I enjoy about music.

To enjoy In Rainbows? For me the emotional pay off runs through the arc of the album, each song building towards the 'payoff' that is Videotape. A very moving experience.

That's an interesting way to look at it, I guess. I, along with the rest of the world, have ADHD, however, and need immediate payoff. :D

Reckoner could have been such a great song, though. But there's nothing. No payoff.

If you want a payoff then smoke a bowl while listening to this CD with your girlfriend.

That song has an amazing payoff though.

"Because we separate like ripples on a blank shore" being sung with "In Rainbows" in beautiful harmony in the background.

For me, that's the best part of the entire album.

Who is more important?

anyone who doesnt have pretty much the same song over and over.

There best song is High and Dry, it all goes down hill from there

How about Oasis or Blur? Ryan Adams? Beck?

...theres alot.

Look, I like this band, but they get real old real quick.
