While our bye week came at a decent time this year, it's absurd that there are still teams who haven't had their bye week this deep into the season.
I don't know the scheduling formula that determines bye weeks, but it seems like they could schedule every team's bye in weeks 8 and 9 (or 7 and 8... whatever). Each of those weeks would have a slate of 8 games while 16 teams take the week off. They'd still get Monday, Thursday, and 4 games on Sunday televised. That seems much more fair than the current system. If anyone knows the rationale for the current bye scheduling as oppossed to a 'get it done in 2 weeks' formula, I'd like to hear it.
