now we have an owner who openly tells the opposition we are scared.

now we have our leader on defense helping the other quarterback up after hitting him. (i don't see romo getting that same treatment after getting bodyslammed into the turf)

now we have a team that allows opponents to deface our logo (jacobs).

we have a team that shows more emotion towards the media than our opponent.

when was the last time you've seen our guys rally around a player like this after a good play?

look at 25 seconds into this video from the infamous larry allen play....you never see this anymore from our guys. it's always ware or ratliff celebrating by themselves.

where is the swagger? where is the emotion? where is the love for your teammates and disdain for the opponent?

I sorta agree with most of you. I think swagger is overrated, and I think the fear thing is being misused...

but one thing I hated today sums it up IMO.

The 2nd Ware sack when he plowed Vick into the ground was great. Watching him chat it up and pat him on the head afterwords made me sick.

Enormous talent had a lot to do with the 90's championships.

Swagger is overrated.

YOU NAILED.....the video is worth a thousand words. SIMPLE AWESOME  can we send this to Jerry Jones and Jason Garrett....show them what a team with HEART looks and acts like...well done

We won because we were the most talented team on the field every single game day. And our team had tremendous depth. It was a different time and the way the salary cap is now you'll never see a team like that again. Don't compare the two or whine because our team doesn't have the same level of success.

So I'm not the only one who's sick of our defense being nice guys before, during and after each play? Nice to know.

Too many nice guys or guys who just don't care, period. When's the last time you saw anyone on this team jawing with an opponent? I'm not talking about doing something stupid like committing an unsportsmanlike penalty...I'm talking about just getting in someone's face. The refs will let that stuff go as long as you don't shove someone but the Cowboys never seem to want to get into that stuff.

Other teams don't fear the Cowboys, really. I guarantee you next Sunday Brandon Jacobs will try to get into their heads and the Cowboys will just let him do it because they're "above that."

As a Mavs fan, I watched it happen to us for years. The perception of a soft team that you could punch in the mouth or rattle them mentally. It took a vocal player with an attitude like Tyson Chandler to be the backbone of the team and change their culture.

90's teams had heart and warriors like Emmitt and the play maker, a great O Line, and seldom beat themselves. This team not so much.

Wait, so you guys got a problem with sportsmanship?

You must not of WATCHED the video.....its shows a players with HEART and SOUL who did not like to lose.....nothing about talent, nothing about depth...pure heart and soul.....something miserly missing from this era of Cowboys Coaches and the Team

instead of getting autographs after games, it would be nice to see a little of this.

You must not have watched football in the 90s. Those guys were competitors, but the reason they had so much success was because they were supremely talented. There's a lot of bad football players that have "heart".

I think what you're looking for is what I like to call "genuine hate." There is very little genuine hate between teams in most sports now a days. When I think of genuine hatred I think Boys Skins 70-80's, Boys Eagles 80s-90s, Celtics Pistons mid to late 80s, Pacers Knicks early 90s...I'm sure I could go on or you could think of some too.

Genuine hate is good for sports. Free agency, money and player culture in most sports has changed from 20 years ago (the swagger of the 90s). How many players actually finish an entire career on the same team now? The landscape has changed.

I would also dare to say that instead of teams requiring multiple superbowls in a short time span to be called dominant like the Cowboys of the 90s winning 3 super bowls in a 4 year window, a team in the landscape of sports now could be considered dominant with 1 superbowl victory and multiple deep playoff runs in a 4 to 5 year window. Consecutive winning seasons with consecutive playoff runs...having consecutive successful seasons I think is the new way to measure dominance.

As much as I hate to say this I think New England and Pittsburgh may be the closest teams currently to still have a tie to dominance of teams from earlier generations. At the very least these organizations understand the concept of it.

Genuine hatred between players on teams is great for sports. Opposing players now a days help each other up and play or train together in the offseason. I don't think we'll see genuine hate at the level of previous generations ever again and that sucks.

genuine hate still exists. look at the giants and how they punk us all week long leading up to our games. nobody ever responds to them.

but i also want genuine love. look at the video..when larry allen returned to the sideline he had all his guys waiting to congratulate him for his effort. that has nothing to do with talent. that is a genuine bond those players had and they openly expressed that love and passion for the game.

cmon man don't give me that argument please.

we've done the choir boy route for many years here and it has produced nothing but fail.

i'm not saying i want thugs or divas i want a team that shows more passion for the game of football. way too many reserved awwshucks guys on this team.

look at the video...when larry allen returns to the sideline he is greeted by his teammates. never see this from this team anymore. sometimes they look like zombies out there...complete oblivious to whats going on in the game.

i understand first and foremost it takes talent to succeed, but those teams had attitude as well, an edge that i have never seen in this group of players. the closest ones i see it from is ratliff and witten. ware helping vick up and checking on him after he hit him truly disgusted me. i always said many of ware's sacks were empty stats but that truly put the cherry on top. nobody has the nastiness of a charles haley on defense or an erik williams on the offensive line. this week, expect plenty of **** talking coming our way from the giants and nobody respond on our side.

The swagger left the building many years ago and has yet to return. Please put out an APB on it. I miss it too.

We sure weren't winning THAT season because of the HC. :laugh2:

I'm so sick of hearing about the 70s and 90s.

You weren't there then? If you had seen it for yourself, you would know without a doubt why we talk about those teams. Those teams had more than talent, they had an attitude to match... even with a HC like Switzer, the players had it under control.

With Landry, it was scheme first, players second- The HC was mister no emotion. Johnson was a 180 from Landry. Wonder where Garrett ends up?
