Ross, Houston, and Revis?

About a month ago (after the Combine), Houston really shot up draft boards due in large part to his workout. Since then, several sites have suggested he is overrated.

I guess right now, I rate Revis and Hall about tied, then Ross, and finally Houston. But I don't really have much confidence in my rankings.

In which order would you rank them? And which one(s) are most likely to succeed or go bust, in your opinion? (I realize each player could be a bust, but which one(s) is most likely in your opinion?)

1. Hall - succeed
2. Ross - succeed
3. Nelson - succeed
4. Revis - succeed
3. Houston - possible bust

Why do you think Houston could have a higher probability of being a bust than the others?

I think Houston will be a solid corner but there a lot of signs that suggest he'll end up being a bust, the main one being how he has shot up draft charts during the combine/workout periods of the lst few months. Always have to be a little wary of the workout warriors.

His size isn't doing him any favors either.

1. Revis
2. Ross/Hall
3. Houston

I think Hall is a tad overrated by being considered a top 10 pick potentially.

I still think he is 1st round talent, just not that high, and i give Revis the nod above Hall for his return ability. i know Ross can return as well, but i don't think he is as fast as Revis.

Houston is rated high only due to his 40 time, but i don't think it's enough to be rated higher than the other 3

I have to agree with Roughneck's assessment of Houston, but I disagree about Hall. He's a pretty solid, four-year cornerback--who only really struggled against Ginn and Jarrett in final year. I think he hasn't reached his full potential yet and will only get better.

And between Merriweather and Nelson, character issues aside for the moment, which one do you pick? (solely on talent for the purposes of this question)

Whoa! Forgot about Merriweather! Not a good sign this close to the draft. :banghead:

In answer to your question, Merriweather, hands down.

Hall, Revis, Ross, Houston, McCauley, and then it really doesn't matter as it's all muddle after that IMO

Houston
Ross

(Eric Wright)****
Hall
Revis
(McCauley)

*** Wright has some character issues that need addressed.

Probably the first two Cornerbacks selected on Saturday.

Darrelle Revis is from Pitt and Leon Hall is from Meatchicken.

If you think being the first cornerbacks selected in the draft is high, and most peope do, then yeah they'll go pretty high. Probably mid first round for both of them.

Revis and Hall are at the top, but I like Houston.

Hall is on top, followed by Revis, then Ross/Houston. The latter two flip flop. Teams seem to either love Houston or have shied away and put him in the second. Ross still doesn't get a lot of love by enough to secure his third position. I'd put him third based on his STs play which is not just PR but blocked kicks. Houston has a bigger bust factor but someone will fall in love with his measurable. But that's JMO.

I already said that I think Houston is going to be a solid corner in the league. I was just making the argument as to why a lot of people think he might end up being a bust.

Oh and FYI, there are a crapload more Tony Mandarich's than DeMarcus Ware's in the category of workout warrior's success in the NFL.
