ok so were into the season...with supposedly 4 solid corners.....lets say Pac man gets reinstated and impresses the coaches....and Jenkins pans out and does well also....

Jerry i doubt is going to wanna pay 1st round cash to a 4th string corner who has ability....and someone with pac mans ability and ego...wont want to ride the horse at 4th CB, much less 3rd...he thinks he should be starting.....

Stephen already said Newman isn't going anywhere

so i wonder is Henry the odd man out? IMO i think so, unless they have plans for him at safety, then it would probably be Roy.....

it looks like its between roy and henry....we might see changes even sooner than next season...because this season, if pacman gets reinstated, i doubt he will be happy with 3rd corner...and it will be a big soap opera with him and Ellis

whats your take?

My take is well keep more than 4 corners.

The question is whether we keep 5 or 6. not 4.

I think as long as Wade is here, Henry will stay because he fits his style of zone defense. But Roy doesn’t seem to fit in. I still think Jenkins would be a safety before Henry if Roy was let go next year. And i think in todays NFL you need everyone in the secondary to be able to cover including safetys.

Wade's already stated we'll likely keep 6 corners and 4 safeties. If not 6 corners, then obviously Ball's out the window.

It would not surprise me if after June 1st Henry wasn't shopped in a trade for a veteran WR. Especially if Jones does get reinstated.

I would not be surprised if Spears, Henry and Ellis is not shopped for a Vet WR, coming from Detroit, but cannot forget Arizona and Cinnci, but I believe that there is still some Conversations going on with the Lions, right now.

I would not rule out Roy, and as someone already suggested that Henry could be moved to FS, and Hamlin to SS. Oh, Hamlin could be moved since he has not signed his contract yet, there is a lot of moving parts going on.

If it looks like we have 4 good CBs excluding Pacman (say Newman, Henry, Jenkins, Scandrick/Ball) I would trade Henry to some team looking for a corner if it is cap neutral - might be able to get a 3rd rounder for him. If someone is desperate, maybe a 2nd.

I don't like the idea of moving him to safety because he is not a very good open field tackler. He also hasn't been very durable.

Henry is not going any where. We will keep 6 CBs

Henry
Tnew
jenkins
scandrick
ball
pacman

We will need all of them too taking into account Tnew and henry's injury history.

If Adam Jones is reinstated, he signed a three year performance based contract. Why would the Cowboys need to alter the current situation?

There's no way I'd get rid of any established cornerback (ie., Henry) after last season. What if Newman gets hurt again? What if Adam Jones gets suspended again?

If Jones somehow gets reinstated before the season and is in playing shape, I'd go with Newman and Jones as my starters, Henry as my No. 3 (with Newman moving into the slot), Jenkins and Scandrick as Nos. 4 and 5 and maybe Ball as No. 6 if he earns it. If Jones isn't in playing shape, then he has no right to complain about being No. 3.

Excellent point.so the assumption of the thread starter is iffy or wrong.

lets see if pacman is reinstated and how is does in one year before throwing away our starters in impossible trade deals.

Sorry man, but Pac Man hasn't played in a year. He may be ready to start down the road, but considering he was still up and coming and not established, I think he'll be rusty. I'd go with Newman, Henry, Pac Man, Jenkins, Scandrick and Ball. Maybe once November hits I start Pac Man

If Pac starts the season on the roster you absolutely HAVE TO KEEP 6 CBs. Ball probably doesn't last long on the PS if he has to go there.

I said if he "is in playing shape." If he's able to play at his previous level, then he's better than Henry has ever been and should be the starter. If he's rusty and out of shape, then Henry probably starts.

Pacman will play in whatever CB position we want. He's in no position to be upset about anything in Dallas. He's darn lucky a team wanted him & has a support mechanism in place to help him get reinstated and hopefully stay out of trouble.

Fine, trade Millen the rights to Goodrich. Send him an old tape, he may not notice.

Otherwise, there's not a single reason to trade Henry, or get rid of any other CB. Insurance for injury and suspension.

Henry and Newman can start - move Newman to the slot and have Adams man the outside in a nickel provided he's in game shape.
