I can’t get other the fact that even though we couldn’t stop the run at all we continued to stay in our nickel defense. Even on the 4th and goal we were in nickel. What the heck is wrong with these coaches. They would literally rather continue with the game plan when it’s clearly not working and lose than adjust. And I’ve notice it’s not just our coaches. The colts did the same thing against the chiefs earlier. They just kept running zone when it clearly wasn’t working. I feel like most NFL coaches are so damn stubborn compared to other leagues. And to me this is why Bill and Brady have been dominate. They adjust. They don’t just sit there for 4 quarters and continue doing something that doesn’t work. I’m just shocked. What do y’all think?

They are too arrogant to be wrong.

You are correct sir!

I remember our game against NE when we had Greg Hardy, Brady was getting sacked left and right and they could do nothing offensively.

They adjusted and of course our defense and coaches had no answers and failed to adjust to their adjustments and lost the game.

What should they have done? Genuinely curious how you would've adjusted.
Well for one how about play more base defense and at least try and stop the run. And who knows maybe that doesn’t work and maybe that gives the rams an advantage in the passing game but we’ll never know. But why continue doing something that clearly isn’t working?

Linehan should have gone much more pass heavy to start and throughout the game after the first few times it was obvious our Oline was unable to open holes up for Zeke. Had we gone more pass heavy, I truly believe that would have forced the Rams front 7 to loosen up, thus enable Zeke to run better.

Neither are going anywhere...
Unfortunately I believe your right, I've been saying for years that the only way anything is gonna change is for Jerry to step down as GM or for the fan base to show that what's been going on over the last 20 years is unacceptable and quit buying merchandise and going to games. Neither of those is going to happen so we have to wait. Wait for what you ask, we'll either for Jerry to be too old and sick to be GM or... Well I'm not sure anything else will work

The cowboys were just getting blown up. The seahawks victory was their 'superbowl'. we used up all our energy on that game. There's no scheming when your D line just gets tossed around and when their rb just blows our guys up and keeps plowing forward for positive gains just about any time they touch the ball.

You've got a point. With Lee healthy, I was hoping to see all 3 playing at once to stop the run. I was wondering why there was so much rotation. Didn't realize they were playing nickel all the time.

Stop the run. Make them one dimensional. Make Goff beat you.

It's one thing not to sell out against the run and stack the box. It's another to play nickel against Gurley. No wonder we couldn't stop the run. We were light one run defender in the box. 7 man box with 3 strong LBs would have made a difference.

I think it was more than the front 7.

Since 2017, the OC, the QB, and the WRs haven't found a way to make teams pay for stacking the box. I don't see Linehan even trying.

Losing for years and years and getting high draft picks is why the Rams are loaded. Then they signed everyone and now they are just stacked stacked stacked. And even then, we were 1 TD + 2 pointer away from tying them. If our offensive coaching was better, we win. If Kris Richard had his own philosophy and players, we may win also.

But ifs won't do anything about the fact that every now and then, you just go up against a different team that's simply better than you.

It’s weird, too, because Richard—who’s calling the defense this year—is actually a new coach in Dallas. Did Linehan and Garrett get to him already or what?

I honestly think all the coaching interviews hurt. It's like Marinellie took over for the week..and came up w/ that vanilla game plan. And we just stuck w/ it...becausue Richard had nothing. Didn't watch tape...anything. I'm sitting here watching the NFL Network replay the game...and here are the Rams lining up in 3 TE sets...and we are just happy as larks sitting in that 4-2-5....getting out blocked 7 on 4 on the first level. And the LBers are just waiting for???? It's like they haven't even seen the Rams play.:(

You didn’t think the halftime adjustment by Garrett to “be more physical” was effective?

What other cliche can we throw out there?
