I'm surprised that Jack Crawford is active and Coleman is inactive considering that T. Crawford is out. I guess they'll play Mincey DT for a few snaps.

Cowboys:

Davon Coleman DT
Tyrone Crawford DT
Tim Dobbins LB
Jakar Hamilton DB
Donald Hawkins T
Tony Hills T
Dustin Vaughan QB

Jags:
Andre Branch DE
Mike Brown WR
Tommie Campbell DB
Jeremiah George LB
Storm Johnson RB
Brandon Linder G
Sam Young T

It's even more odd about Coleman considering that Hayden is dealing with an injury.

No Sam Young?:) No Alan Ball on the inactives for Jacksonville. Does that mean he will be playing? Is he still on their roster?

Alan Ball and Sam Young - a trip down memory lane.

For nickel rush I would think Selvie, Melton, Mincey and Lawrence? Melton will need some breaks though. Can Jack Crawford rush from the inside? Or they could put Lawrence inside - he actually looks good there too.

I've seen reports that Alan Ball is playing well. He had 14 passes defensed, 2 Ints and 46 tackles last year.

I would expect the extra DT reps to go to Mincey and some of his DE reps to go to Jack Crawford with D-Law playing a lot more snaps than last week.

Jack Crawford is listed at 6-5, 275 so I guess that he could rush as a DT.

I liked what I saw from Tank Lawrence last week. Biggest surprise? His strength.

He is bigger now, but that's the style that he played in college. I had him in the top 2 run defenders of the guys in the draft that could play RDE.

Marinelli definitely seems to prefer the style of DE that plays with power and often rushes directly at the QB as opposed to always trying to loop around the OT with just speed. That rush style lends itself to better run defense but it probably causes less sacks. The outside rushers that loop around with speed can catch the QB off-guard because he often does not see them; whereas, the more direct line rusher can be seen by the QB but they're always near him and not as easily just pushed wide and completely out of the play.

wish weeden and vaughan switch spots on the depth chart and active/inactive list lol

Rather have Spencer, Melton, Mincey, and Tank Lawrence in the nickel rush package

Sam Young still in the league tells you how thin the O Line talent is in general.

Hey, a few years ago he was a guy we couldn't possibly know anything about and we shouldn't think we know more than the coaches.
