It looks better than I expected. I just really wish they were using more practical effects like the first.
It looks darker, they can't sell it the way they sold the last one.... solid stars, no mega stars like young fresh prince....
I'm still not sold... although It will probably clean up at the theaters.... The studio is banking on the name.. if it does well, we will see a third.. and a reboot, and so on, and so on......
I'm not really too bummed out about Smith. I enjoyed him in the first, but it was the Goldblum show all the way for me. He's in it, I'm good. Pullman is looking rough though.
Really they do not need to have remakes. Keep the original the original. Hollywood is running out of ideas.
"We Always Knew They Would Be Back" 20 years later, lets sell it to them again....
I will sneak into to that one, after seeing something else.
I knew it would be taken that way... Lol
But seriously... It cost the same. Dinner and a movie all in one. Spacious and recliners.

I'm right there with you, man. I've only done the dine-in once, but after going to a theater with reserve seats (plush, leather recliners at that), I can't lower myself to go to a regular theater like a heathen.
As far as Independence Day 2, I actually think it looks downright awful. The fact that they had so much time to think about this and the only thing they could come up with is the aliens came back in bigger ships? No thanks.
After such a horrible day (Panthers still undefeated, Steelers "resurging" to possibly still win the AFC North, Skids and Sheagles both winnin and us losin) The commercial for Independence Day Resurgence was def. a pleasant surprise....I was legitimately surprised for the first time in a good while....I had absolutely no inkling of an idea that a sequel was bein made, and I do actually try to keep up with these sort of things.........Bottom line I dont know if I like the idea of a sequel, but I grew up in the 90's and Independence Day was one of my favs (right up there with Braveheart, Jurassic Park, Titanic and Saving Private Ryan as best movies of the 90's) so I will definitely be catchin this one in Theaters (And I rarely go to a theater and pay for a movie)....
He said "And after today the 4th of July will no longer be known as an American holiday." I thought that's what he said in the first one. How many alien attacks on the 4th of July does it take for it to be recognized as a universal holiday? I guess as many as Hollywood can milk out of people's bank accounts.
