If there’s a Super Bowl in February 2012, it will be played in Indianapolis.
Owners voted on Tuesday to award Super Bowl XLVI to the town that has hosted the Colts since 1984. The other finalists were Arizona and Houston.
It’ll be the fourth Super Bowl in a cold-weather city. Detroit has hosted two Super Bowls, and Minneapolis has hosted one.
But with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the NFL and the union expiring after the 2010 season, there’s a chance that there won’t be a Super Bowl in February 2012. Or that, if there is one, it will be played by the best of the replacement players hired to wear the uniforms while the “real” players are playing Madden.
