Hey guys, I haven't posted in a while because I got a new computer, forgot my password and couldn't remember which e-mail I used. Sorry Hostile for not getting back to your IM's but that was the reason.
As some of you may remember, I work in the NFL. I am putting something together for a player who is a possible Hall of Famer, so I've been talking with some HOF voters over the last two weeks. I had lunch with one of them today and he told me some great stories. There's something he said I thought you may be interested in.
I asked about Irvin's chances to get in this year and he said he voted for him last year and will do so again. The problem, he said, is the voters from both Minnesota and Pittsburgh will never vote for a Cowboys player, no matter who he is. He said this isn't a problem for guys like Aikman and Emmitt because their bias can't keep them out. However, with Cowboys on the fence like Irvin, losing two votes every time out can be a deciding factor. Here are the two people he is talking about:
Sid Hartman of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune
Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
I just thought some of you would find this interesting. I guess that explains why it's so hard to get Cowboy player in the Hall if two guys are always voting against them. Trust me, from the stories I've heard, some of these SOB's need to have their vote revoked because they use this platform for their own personal agenda, and that's not the place for it.
