Ingram

NE missed Dez and now Ingram...

Trade down all you want....get more picks....but really...what have all those picks turned out to be?

I dont know...sometimes its just better staying pat and taking a player. Sure during the draft all those picks look sexy....but I dont really see the Pats loading up on all these great players with all these picks they acquired during the years.

They traded away the chance to pick Dez, Ingram and Clay mathews......

why do we want to be like them??????

Imagine this place if we did that?

Don't know about Ingram yet, but they were wrong to pass on Dez.

This is all a plot by NE to stockpile 10 first round picks by 2020.

Doesn't seem to help them lately. They haven't won a playoff game since 07. People need to stop putting the Patriots on some pedestal. They have been exposed a lot lately.

Please.

Double digit wins for the last 8 years. Missed out on the playoffs on a 1-in-a-million situation a year or so back and won 14 games last year.

And "lately". You say that like 3 years ago is some distant past.

Seriously, if the Patriots can't be considered a well-run team, which teams are?

If the standard is winning a playoff game every year, I'd doubt you find a single team to fit the profile.

What do you mean please. I don't care about the last 8 years. They weren't doing all this trading and maneuvering when they were winning titles. Ever since the old guard has moved on: Law, Seymour, Bruschi, Brown, etc they haven't done anything. Yeah I said lately as in the last 3 years, that's what lately means the last time I checked. You praise them for all the trading and additional picks they get, big deal. What has it shown on the field, 0 playoff wins. Heck our playoff win is more recent than theirs.

Which teams are well-run? Let's start with the champion Packers, the Jets, the Steelers, the Colts, the Saints, the Ravens.

But then again, they were in the playoffs this year.....and last year.....and in the Superbowl two years before that.

If they had won 1 playoff game in that same amount of time would their trading have been "worth it"?

Forgive me for realizing that that getting to the playoffs is a prerequisite to winning in the playoffs.

They get there often. Them not winning every year has no bearing on how well they run their draft and acquire picks.

Gosh you are completely missed my point. Right on cue. Which Patriot jersey are you wearing right now?:banghead:

So.......except for the Colts, all the teams that won a playoff game LAST YEAR?

I'm not. Just calling it how it is. They are managed really well, regardless of what stipulations you put out there to qualify as such.

Being in the playoffs almost every year qualifies in my book.

the Colts have won a playoff game since the Patriots have. They were in the Super Bowl two seasons ago.

Well, good to know that your perspective is based on something more than recent outcomes.

Yeah winning a playoff game since 2009 is actually better than winning a playoff game since 2007. Who would have figured that is more recent and relevant.

You're serious?

Honestly, if you don't like the Patriots and hold some grudge against them that prevents you from giving credit where credit is due, just say so.

It will really save both of us a lot of time.

I am literally starting to hate New England.

Seriously, how do they always load up and get another 1st rounder.

Imagine if they offer those 1st rounders next year and the following year to move up to #1 and secure Luck.

It's ridiculous that teams constantly give New England a king's ransom.

New Orleans didnt give New England a kings ransom to make that deal. They essentially dealt two 2nd rd picks to get the 28th pick (re, future draft picks are usually valued at one round less), thats exactly what you'd expect.

Unless New Orleans has an unexpectedly bad season, this was probably a dumb move by the Pats.

You really haven't paid much attention have you? This has nothing to do with holding a grudge against the Patriots. My first post was in response to you slobbering all over how great the Patriots organization is for trading to get additional picks. My point is all the trading that they done and the praise you were giving them hasn't translated to the great success that you have made them out to be in the recent years and it has only been in recent years that they started doing all this trading. I am really done with this issue. I have made my point over and over again. If you don't get it by now well sorry for you.

Until next year when that "2nd rounder" is really a 1st rounder that they can take a player with in the 1st round or trade again for more value than a 2nd rounder.

They were given #56 and a guarantee of #32 or better. Almost the equivalent of a mid-1st rounder AT WORST.

If New Orleans comes out at #20, the value of those picks is worth the #12 overall.

Not to mention we've already heard how weak this draft is. I'd think any team that could gain a second by deferring a 1st round pick in a weak draft made the right choice.

Yeah, 14-2 is failure.

Oh wait. We can't talk about regular season wins that get to the playoffs.......you've limited us to only playoff wins.

And please, be done with it.

It is when you don't win a playoff game. You must be in that group that thinks our 13-3 07 season was a success. Yeah I am sure the Patriots were happy finishing 14-2, having homefield throughout the playoffs and losing at home to their rivals. I would be done with it but you keep digging yourself deeper and deeper into the foolish hole.
