Offense still in flux, but that’s a hell of a defensive roster. The offensive is going to be fine thanks to McClay.

The Cowboys intend to bring back 4 players: Backup QB, Place Kicker, Long Snapper and C.J. Goodwin.

So which 4 players on the roster today will not be on the active roster by the end of tomorrow? Tyron Smith and James Washington are the easy picks, but who are the other 2 players headed to IR, or that the Cowboys intend to trade? Plus, they will likely sign another Olineman for depth.

Wright, Gifford, Ridgeway, Wilson (S) are all gone IMO

I think some of you are missing the obvious. There will be several guys who will go to short term IR.

Any position where a player has a “nick” at a position of surplus that they can live without for 3 weeks is a possibility. It will be used liberally.

 

[Verdict]

Couldn't they add Rush to PS since he doesn't have to go through waivers then move him to 53 next week while moving someone from the current 53 to PS. Rosters will be more set in stone and since poaching requires you to add to your current 53 it would make it safer to protect that particular player.

I think the Cowboys hoped both Rush and Grier end up back on the team. One will go to the practice squad (Grier) if he clears waivers.

I think it is possible that if Grier clears waivers that Rush stays gone.
