I reviewed all of Wilcox's snaps in this game and I saw very few problems. I don't know why people are complaining about him.

Because the Rams backup QB completed some passes, and not on Carr, so it's Mo and the Safeties in the barrel.

I wish I had all 22 or some type of film like you do. The problem is we as fans me included go by what we see on tv and I saw Cook open a ton and the media pretty much tells us Church is in the box while Wilcox covers the TE. But I don't get to see all the good that you saw because I don't have access to film. Glad to hear he was doing better then I thought

He almost gave up a TD in man coverage on a pick play that should have been called offensive pi.

On the Rams last TD drive there is a deep out that Cook ran where Wilcox tackled him. It appears that Wilcox might be responsible but you cannot see the coverage downfield to be sure.

For all of that overrun on the first series, the Rams tried to go back to it two other times with that swing pass and Wilcox made excellent openfield tackles. 2:06 of the third and Stacey has flanked the entire defense while Wilcox comes over from his spot deep middle to stop him cold. He does it again 4:44 4th quarter. This time Wilcox is in the intermediate zone and snuffs out the 4 yard throw underneath for no RAC.

What people do not seem to understand on the Claiborne pick, Wilcox flashed underneath the route. Davis had to try and fit the ball and Quick stopped short of the throw. It was great coverage. It's been pointed out how Wilcox saved Mo's biscuit in the second quarter taking over the top when Mo got beaten off the line.

The issue is that Siragusa and Moose kept on talking about how the secondary kept on allowing wide open receivers and then would zoom in on Wilcox. You have to nit pick to find stuff he really did wrong.

You know, it wasn't long ago that many on this forum were bashing Spence like crazy. Now we're hoping he can resurrect his career as save a subpar defence. I was not on that negative band wagon, but I have my doubts if he'll ever return to form with that knee problem.

I would guess that he'll get limited rotational snaps to try work back in, and that his contributions might not be better than what we have.

It he gets his legs back and gets significant playing time, I'll worry that he won't last the season.

Don't misunderstand, I'm definitely pullin' for him.

As for RoMac, he's been away too long, too; might be battling injuries the entire year.

I agree with you. I don't think Spencer will be a savior for this defense. I do believe he has the want and talent to contribute still. Again if he can help provide even a little pass rush in passing situations and DLaw comes back and contribute it could be a big boost down the stretch

Ya not just with Wilcox but the entire defense. I see most fans dislike a certain player and make them out to be worst then they are. Yet are young and will make mistakes, wasn't too long ago fans said I don't mind struggling some to bring in young talent on defense..... most of them aren't even in 3rd year and those same fans say we need to rebuild. ....... crazy

I have him down for 4 plays where he could have done better:

The play that he overran by the sideline where Carter missed the tackle.

Another play where he almost made the tackle, but didn't and it resulted in about a 4 yard gain.

The deep out to the TE on the offensive right side.

The pass to the TE in the end-zone that was dropped.

They did call PI on a pick play where it initially appeared that the TE beat him, again near the offensive right sideline.

I initially thought Wilcox was just OK in this game, but now after reviewing him specifically, he was better than I thought.
