I agree. I am fine with a June 1st cut of Tyron because it gives us plenty of time to find depth. However, I don't want to jump the gun and start cutting people without going through free agency and the draft to see if we find a legitimate replacement. If we don't find a legitimate replacement then we can just suck it up and keep Tyron for another year. Players that I am onboard with cutting this year.
Ezekiel Elliott - should be easy to replace with all of the RBs in free agency and the depth in the draft - $4.8 million cap savings if cut prior to June 1st or $10.9 million cap saving after June 1st
Jourdan Lewis - $4.7 million saved on CAP
Tyron Smith - Need a replacement first - $9.6 million cap savings if cut prior to June 1st or $13.6 million cap saving after June 1st
Players I may consider cutting
Neville Gallimore - If we are just going to make him inactive every other week then we just as well cut him and save $2.7 million on the cap
Kelvin Joseph - this doesn't save us much cap space but this guy has loser written all over him - don't really like having knuckle heads on the roster, especially when the talent level is low. Only thing that may save him is special teams.
