I see the Panthers have lost their starting RT for probably the year and a Jets RB has a broken foot. Football is a violent sport, but it's very early in TC, but already some major injuries are being reported.

Why do you guys think we are seeing so many injuries these days? It seems much more prevalent than it used to be.

I see the Cowboys are using YOGA. Do any of you seeing that as beneficial to cutting down on injuries?

The down facing dog is passé. Yet the Golden Hand Dove Unwind is to me liking.
If Jerry did yoga, he'd be like David Carradine in beating up bullies.

No. I think we haven’t seen injuries yet because Dez isn’t on the team anymore.
His negative aura traveled through players hamstrings causing them to tear.

Oh....sorry..
I saw your name and assumed this was another Dez rant thread...

Oops..
no, no! Come in you are in a safe zone. A safe place. Verdict roughed you up, yes?
Its OK to cry....

Do Delusional Disorders make the patient suffer very much? Asking for a friend.

Having played sports, I'm prone to superstition, so I made this photoshopped image to unjinx thread discussions about injuries.

Feel free to use it...

I think part of the problem is the players union doesnt allow teams to work these guys out to get them in shape before camp. From my own experience when you havent worked out or done any running it takes about 4-6 weeks to get back into shape.

Yoga is pretty awesome for injury prevention, flexibility, ligament/tendon strength, and so on. The smart players are doing it in the offseason.

More injuries probably from new CBA rules.

Not saying I'm pleased the Carolina RT is out, but I'm not exactly mad about it, considering we play them Week 1 and DLaw is going to be lined up on that side.

I think they are just trying to throw something at the wall and see if it sticks. Typically you'll see injuries during this time and early in the season because players are trying to overperform before they are physically ready, hence the yoga. It's a slow time consuming process to get yourself physically ready for a football season. If you show up late to camp or try to skip this process and still play at a high level too soon, that's when you see the injuries.

Ive been hoping to hear about them using yoga for years so this is great news to me. I was particularly happy to hear that Tyron Smith's "personal instructor" was leading the session. If anyone can benefit from it, it's him. The news makes me much more optimistic that he will have better success staying healthy.

It's great news, if a bit overdue.

It's football. It's more violent, players are bigger and faster now than what they used to be which mean the collisions are more violent, when it comes to non contact injuries, being bigger and putting that strain on bones, joints, and muscles increases injuries.

Just reported Vita Vea limps off the field with a leg injury.
No details on the extent of the injury.

Stop wearing shorts and put on more pads. These days it's cup cake training camp, with more injuries go figure.

I think the Yoga is going to help. Injuries will still occur but any preventive measures can help give us a competitive advantage.

That, and a higher percentage of players have a diminished work ethic. Year round workout warriors are more essential than ever.
