IRVING, Texas -- Wide receiver Dez Bryant was limited for the fourth straight practice in his return from a broken right foot, and quarterback Matt Cassel has been added to the Dallas Cowboys’ injury report with a knee injury.
Cassel was wearing a brace on his left knee after taking a low hit by Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett in last week's loss, but he was able to practice fully Wednesday.
“It’s fine,” Cassel said of his knee. “It’s just more precautionary.”
By not missing any practice time, Cassel was able to at least get some more work with Bryant. Against the Seahawks, Bryant caught only two passes for 12 yards in his return from a five-game absence.
“The more that I can be out there with him and understand his body language, the type of routes he runs and everything like that and just familiarize myself with the player himself, I think that’s great,” Cassel said.
Safety Barry Church did not practice because of a high ankle sprain. He said he hopes to work some Thursday and Friday and play Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. He practiced only one day last week but was able to start against the Seahawks.
Tight end James Hanna (ankle) and defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence (back) were also limited. Wide receiver Brice Butler, who did not play last week in part because of a hamstring strain, was a full participant on Wednesday...
