DETROIT Two of the Dallas Cowboys starters in the secondary safety Barry Church and cornerback Morris Claiborne “left Sunday™'s game against Detroit with hamstring injuries.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Claiborne's injury could be significant, but he expected Church to play next week against Minnesota.

Claiborne is a question mark, Jones said. Church didn't sound just serious. Claiborne, because of the hamstring, might be. I don't know until we get him … visit site to read more

Barry Church should play Week 9

Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said Monday safety Barry Church should be ready to play Week 9 vs. Minnesota after leaving Sunday's game against the Lions with a hamstring injury.

"Church, his injuries kept him out there a little bit at the end," Stephen Jones said on KRLD-FM 105.3. "I do think he can recover and get back for the Vikings."

How many teams get their injury reports from their owners.

Anyway, teams are winning in this league with more significant injuries than we have at the moment.......injuries aren't an excuse that we should allow them to use at the moment.

oh gawd how I hope we draft a ACTAUL FREE SAFETY

Church = JAG

The bigger problem is Church and Wilcox play the same position and neither is good in deep coverage, and really we don't have a coverage safety on the roster......haven't had one in a long, long time.

If anything, Wilcox is a developmental prospect that should be developed to take over for Church cause Wilcox has more upside, and they shouldn't be starting together at all. On teams that actually have legit talent at safety, Wilcox wouldn't be starting at all, but on this team with nothing there we have no choice.

If they verified the tricep wasn't torn, then Waters should be good to go.

Brad Sham said he would be surprised if Waters plays again this year. News later in the week. This was during Cowboys hour this evening.

Well the Waters signing went bust. We got what 3 full games out of him?

He hurt three parts of his body in one game - he's definitely gonna retire for good.

Nice for him to have that extra couple mil from Jerrah in his golden years.

And the board explodes..............sure we lost Spencer and such, and were supposed to be fine.....but Waters would be worse than Romo or Ware in some minds.

Season over if true.....right....

So from what I am reading and hearing is that Church should be fine for week 9. This has been reported by the owner, the vice president, the owners wife, the owners grandchildren, the vice presidents cousin, and the step son/eye glass cleaner. Let it be known that the head coach has not stated anything as usual letting others make decisions for him.

I think the season has long been over. Since Ware couldn't stay healthy. I'm not sold on our coaches and core players. Waters was a good addition, but training camp is conditioning, and he wasn't around for it. So now he might be done for the year.
